2) Two idols and two fakes played at the Final Five

If you enjoy theatrical idol plays, it’s hard to beat the Final Five Tribal Council. Two idols were played at the last tribal, but there was more to come with it being the final time to use an idol.

Throughout the season, Devens collected several little objects that he could use to construct a fake idol. That culminated in a mischievous idea to plant not one but two fake idols, putting his creations in the packages from his first two legit idols.

Soon after, Devens not only won the Immunity Challenge, but he also found the last official idol left in the game, making it his fourth of the season! Devens and Chris wanted to go and pick up the fakes since they were both immune (Chris had his idol from Edge of Extinction), but they were too late. First Julie found one fake, and Lauren found the other one!

As you can expect, Tribal Council was pure craziness. Feeling all confident, Julie and Lauren both tried to play their idols, only to receive the surprise that they were fake! With the jury reeling, Devens told Jeff that he wanted to try, and played his legit idol for Gavin.

Chris pretended to be upset that Devens didn’t play it for him, only to get up and use his own. I have to be honest, I’m not big on idol theatrics, but boy was this a fun Tribal. Devens pulled off two perfectly executed fake idols, making Lauren and Julie feel comfortable, preventing any excessive scrambling.
