5 Survivor themes we want to see in future seasons

Survivor: Fearsome Foes

It was brought up by Marty Piombo in a recent Reddit AMA and posited by Twila when she returned to Twitter earlier this year, but it would be amazing to see rivals cast together. Imagine seeing Chris Noble and Domenick Abbate line up once again? How about Tyson vs. Sierra from Survivor: Tocantins? RC versus Abi-Maria? (Well, maybe not that rivalry)

There are several ways to propel the drama, but I would suggest having rivals start on opposing tribes. However, to fuel the tension we’d see a lot of head-to-head challenges in the tribal phase a la Australian Survivor, and once the merge arrives, the merge dynamics become chaotic as rivals who hate each other either start gunning for one another or try to bury the hatchet to propel their games.

That “do you trust me?” versus “out for blood” dichotomy would provide some great possibilities, as it will give great tests of character. Plus, you have baked in storylines (although they need to be explained in editing) that makes it exciting to see what will happen. Furthermore, just like in Blood vs. Water, having a “partner” rival eliminated could potentially put a target on the remaining player’s back.
