Survivor: Island of the Idols cast reveal coming Monday, September 9
It will officially come as late as ever in the show’s history; the Survivor: Island of the Idols cast reveal is teased for a Monday morning release.
UPDATE: Though it was highly likely to be the Survivor: Island of the Idols cast reveal based on a tweet from a member of the media, CBS has confirmed they will be introducing the 20 players on Monday, September 9.
ORIGINAL: At this point, there are fewer days left before the Survivor: Island of the Idols 90-minute premiere than there are castaways set to compete. That’s not counting Boston Rob and Sandra Diaz-Twine; the two winners who will be scrapping and surviving on their own island as they await players to join in their boot camp away from home.
As such, the preseason is going to be rushed, as there will be less time than ever before to get to know these 20 new players joining the family. We now have something of a teased confirmation for when we’ll have the official cast photos, bios, and the introductory articles are set to drop, and you’ll have a whole weekend to wait and see what is revealed.
Teased by Parade’s Mike Bloom on Twitter, he posted an image from the excellent video game The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask with the hashtag “#Survivor” as the only text. For those who are unaware, the player character, Link, has 72 hours to complete a series of tasks before the moon comes crashing down to Termina (although he has the ability to turn back the clock).
Regardless of whether or not you enjoy excellent video games (or video games at all, which, c’mon), the point of the tweet is to tease something Survivor-related 72 hours from between 11 a.m. and noon ET from when he sent the tweet. That would be Monday, September 9 before, or at, noon, which would be 16 days before the premiere of Island of the Idols.
The fandom has been asking for the Island of the Idols cast reveal for days, so it’s hard to see anything less than that. Whether or not we get more information outside remains to be seen. It was in the cast introduction articles that we learned about the Idol Nullifier in David vs. Goliath, so hopefully, we get an onslaught to make up for a quiet September so far.
