5. Michele Fitzgerald

Every time I think I know what’s going on in Michele’s head, she pulls off another move, goes with a different group, or outright go against what seems to be her own best intentions. It took until watching the voting recap video on YouTube to learn that Michele had voted for Tyson this past round, which doesn’t make sense when you consider she was supposed to be his ally this round.

Much like Nick Wilson, Michele has proven herself to be a free agent, this time playing for a different group of players on the outs. However, by voting for Tyson with a shrugged look of confusion, she either didn’t know how to tell him she was betraying him or she didn’t know how to express that she wasn’t on his side at the end.

A lot of Michele’s early edit was about fan perception over her original win in Survivor: Kaoh Rong, with Boston Rob going out of his way to illustrate that if you win, you win, and nobody can say anything otherwise. I would have thought Michele’s merge edit would blossom into the underdog kind of story we saw with Nick Wilson during his season, as she has scraped by like a David fighting a bunch of Goliaths.

However, it’s hard now to tell where Michele’s loyalties lie and who backs her strong social game to the point of outwitting, outplaying, and outlasting a more prominent champion at the end. For now, she safe, and that’s all you could ask for.
