3 Survivor 47 players who might be in danger now that Rome is gone
By Joel Wagler
Survivor 47 has seen blindside after blindside all season, and after the merge that wasn't a merge, the tribes all came together to pull off the biggest blindside of them all.
During the first tribal council in which all tribe members participated, everyone came together for a unanimous vote to take the confident Rome Cooney. Technically, the vote was unanimous because two votes were thrown to Andy Rueda, just in case Rome had an idol.
It was highly entertaining, especially since Rome was convinced he was in total control of the vote and the game. But now what? With the common enemy gone, everyone will start playing the game. Alliances will crumble and form. People will be backstabbed and blindsided. GAME ON!
3. Sol Yi
Now that Rome is gone, his nemesis Sol could be a target. Sol has bitten his tongue for pretty much the whole time he's been on the island, but he shows his displeasure in other ways. He rolls his eyes during challenges, he tries to butt in sometimes, and he doesn't have the best social game.
If he continues, Sol's demeanor may start to rub other players wrong. He doesn't seem to have any close alliances, and he could end up being the odd man out and an easy vote if he can't find some people he can work with.
2. Andy Rueda
Andy had a brutal first week on the island, but a strong alliance with Sam Phalen gave him some confidence. He's still playing an uneven game and could quickly alienate others if he has any more meltdowns.
He was the backup plan for the Rome vote, and he wasn't happy about that when he realized it during tribal. When the players get back from tribal, how Andy handles himself could very well determine his immediate fate in the game. If he comes unglued, it could be costly, but if he handles it quietly and listens to explanations calmly, it will be a big indicator of his growth in the game.
1. Sam Phalen
Sam is now the biggest physical threat in the game, and that player always becomes a target post-merge. He also wasn't particularly loyal to Andy when the latter's name was thrown out as the safety vote in case Rome had something up his sleeve. Sam agreed to Andy's name without hesitation. If Andy finds out, and it looks like he will, that could cause issues for both of them.
Sierra's alliance with Sam has been on the brink for a while now, and it might not take much for her to switch alliances. If she sees sentiment moving away from Sam, it wouldn't be shocking if she finds others to work with. She's been unhappy about Sam's connection with Andy, and if she abandons him, it may seal his fate.
It will be entertaining to see how long old alliances hold up. The players have had a strange couple of days to form new relationships, blurring tribal lines, thanks to Rome being the common target. Now, with him gone, anything can happen moving forward.
Survivor 47 episode 7 airs on Wednesday, Oct. 30, on CBS and Paramount+.
