Survivor 47 cast revealed: Meet all 18 new Survivor players
By Bryce Olin
It's officially the most wonderful time of the year in the world of Survivor! The Survivor 47 cast just dropped. Now, it's time to meet all 18 new Survivor players.
Every season, the Survivor cast reveal means the game is right around the corner. Yes, many of these cast members were revealed last spring when Survivor 46 ended. But, the official reveal means we're only days away from the new season premiere on CBS. Survivor 47 premieres on Wednesday, Sept. 18.
In the premiere, we'll see these 18 new contestants hit the beach in Fiji, split into three tribes, and start playing the game we know and love. Changing things up a bit, Survivor also revealed the cast list. So, we know which tribes the new players will begin season 47. Thanks, CBS!
We should also mention that when we say "new" cast we mean a new cast. For the sixth season in a row and since Winners at War (season 40), there are no returning players in the Survivor 47 cast. So far, we haven't seen any returning players in the New Era. That will change with Survivor 50, though!
Thanks to new images shared by CBS, we also were able to learn which contestants have been selected for each tribe. We shared the ages, where the players live, what they do for work, and tribes of each of the 18 contestants.
Meet the Survivor 47 cast
In addition to dropping the cast list and images, CBS switched it up for Survivor 47. The network shared an almost 20-minute video with the cast allowing the cast to introduce themselves and how they'll be playing the game. It's a great way to meet these characters before the season premieres on Wednesday, Sept. 18.
I highly recommend watching the intros in the video. For the first time in a while, you get a really good sense of who these people are, how they are going to try to play, and what Survivor means to them, which is super cool!

As we reported a while before the cast reveal, there are two notable podcasters among the Survivor 47 players, including Jon Lovett, who hosts Pod Save America, and Aysha Welch, who is a host and contributor for Rob Has a Podcast. Lovett was also a speechwriter for President Barack Obama. He’s quite famous!
Will how well-known those players are hurt them in Survivor? We'll see! There have been many famous and pseudo-famous people to play Survivor. Mike White, writer and star of School of Rock and creator of The White Lotus, made it all the way to the final three and finished runner-up to Nick Wilson on Survivor: David vs. Goliath.
After watching the video, I have a few people who I think have a chance to make it very far in the game. There are some people who I think could be targeted based on what has happened in previous seasons of Survivor. I'm not ready to share my predictions just yet, though! I'll wait until after the first episode before we starting throwing some names out there.
In the New Era of Survivor, I find it much more difficult to predict who will reach the end. Typically, you'll see the stronger, more physical players survive until the merge. Then, they get picked off rather quickly. Lately, those perceived to be more strategic threats or people playing too hard early often see their torch snuffed by Jeff Probst. All of these players could, in theory, win the game, and that's by design. Survivor does an incredible job casting. I think it's better, now, than it ever has been.
Survivor 47 premieres on CBS on Wednesday, Sept. 18. We are so excited for the new season! We’ll be watching, recapping, and commenting on all the big moments in the new season. Check back to Surviving Tribal throughout the season for our in-season coverage.
