4 Survivor 48 players who probably won't make the Final Three

Survivor 48 is about to get very interesting in the last few episodes.

Survivor 48 is flying by! We only have a few episodes left this season before we find out who the winner of Survivor 48 will be. After making my Final Three predictions for Survivor 48, I wanted to explain some of those choices and share the players who I don't think will make the Final Three.

Obviously, Survivor is very unpredictable, and the game changes so rapidly. One blindside or well-timed advantage can completely reshape the game for the remaining players and the jury members, too.

So, let's get into the four players who have the least likely chance to make the Final Three.

Joe Hunter

Welcome to the Party

Then, a secretive midnight journey turns not so secretive when tribemates notice this player sneak out of camp, on SURVIVOR, Wednesday, April 23 (8:00-9:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential | CBS

Joe is easily the biggest physical threat remaining in the game right now. He's won two individual immunities so far, and it just seems like it's going to take a very specific type of challenge to knock him out early. His strength might be the single most important asset in the game right now. And, that's a problem for the other players.

Eventually, Joe will be taken out of Survivor 48. I just don't think we've seen a player this physically dominant in a long time, and without David to challenge him, he might win a few more immunities. His top ally, Eva Erickson, has an immunity idol and a Safety Without Power, which she could share with Joe at some point, too.

I just have a feeling that Joe's time in the game is numbered, even though the players seem to genuinely like him.

Star Toomey

Survivor Smack Talk
“Survivor Smack Talk” – It’s double trouble when an unforeseen twist puts pressure on the castaways during the immunity challenge. Then, there’s nowhere to hide when a pivotal tribal council takes shape and decides who will make the jury, on SURVIVOR, Wednesday, April 9 (8:00-9:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+(live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*. | CBS

I don't have a good feel for where Star is going to end up in Survivor 48, and that's likely due to the fact that we just haven't spent much time with her this season. Most of Star's stories that we have seen revolved around other people, but she's truly one of a kind and so funny. Every time Star gets the chance to share her thoughts or comment, she crushes it! I'm officially on Team Give-Star-More-Confessionals.

Star could easily make the Final Three, but I don't think we've spent enough time with Star yet to expect that from the edit. Just looking at the numbers left, I see Star having a big impact on how things go from her on out, but she could also be one of the easier votes if the majority alliance, after flipping on David, tries to stay together for another vote before they are forced to make a move against each other.

Mary Zheng

The House Party's Over
“The House Party’s Over” – An unexpected twist for the castaways sends the trajectory of their games into an all-new direction. An undercover alliance in the losing tribe leads to a shocking tribal council on SURVIVOR, Wednesday, March 19 (8:00-9:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*. Mary is in a very similar position to Star. She's survived, survived, survived, and survived this season; it's all she's done. So, would it surprise me if she's sitting at the Final Tribal Council talking about all the things she endured in the game? No!

Mary was most closely allied with David Kinne, who was just voted out in the last episode. It's going to be very interesting to see how things shake out, but there's definitely a possibility that Mary is targeted in the near future. If the voting block of Shauhin, Kyle, Kamilla, Joe, and Eva continues to vote together in the next vote, Mary could be one of the players who gets picked off.

Kyle Fraser

Welcome to the Party
“Welcome to the Party” – Tensions continue to rise among disagreeing alliance members. Concentration is key in this week’s individual immunity challenge. Then, a secretive midnight journey turns not so secretive when tribemates notice this player sneak out of camp, on SURVIVOR, Wednesday, April 23 (8:00-9:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential | CB

Like Joe, I just think Kyle is too big of a threat to remain in the game. So far, the game seems to be controlled by some combination of Shauhin, Joe, and Kyle. Everyone is connected to everyone, but those three players seem pretty closely aligned at this point, and they also have strong connections outside of that small group. Eventually, and I expect it to be sooner, they will turn on each other. It happens almost every season. Someone in this power couple or trio must decide to go after the others. In other words, the game opens up a little bit closer to the end as everyone jockeys for position.

I just don't see how Shauhin, who I think is the player who will win Survivor 48 right now, can let Joe and Kyle stick around. Eventually, Shauhin, who seems to be thinking further ahead than anyone outside of Kamilla Karthigesu, should take out the biggest threats to him. Those players are Kyle, Joe, and Eva Erickson. Eva has a lot of advantages, but if Kamilla is willing to take out Kyle, which seems possible at some point, then Kyle is probably not going to make the Final Three.

I hate that I think that, honestly. Kyle seems like a genuinely good person. Remember when he helped Kevin Leung in the first challenge after Kyle accidentally broke his jug? Yeah, he's just a good dude. I would love to see him win the whole thing, but I don't think a select few players will allow that to happen.
