Survivor has held strong for multiple decades and 48 seasons, all with the same basic premise and elements required to succeed. Survivor is a mix of physical game, both for survival around camp and competition in challenges, a social game, and a strategic game. Some players have a balance of two or even all three, while others do not possess any.
Several, meanwhile, have a particular prowess towards one specific aspect of the game above all else, and better than nearly all the others who have played the game. Perhaps the hardest to quantify, thanks to the challenge of properly editing what is happening at camp, is the social game. It is clear when a player is well-liked by the tribe, able to build connections, and use their social game to move further towards the final tribal council. Also of note is how many of these "social" players are often female.
Social game is about more than just likability, though. It is about building deep connections and bonds, ones that draw players to you and make them trust you. Social game is also an aspect that is often highly rewarded in winners, as being socially strong often leads people to want to vote for you because of that bond. This list looks at the best of the best at the social aspect of Survivor, and a game that literally bills itself as a social experiment, this is a critical element to master.
1. Cirie Fields (Panama, Micronesia, Heroes vs. Villains, Game Changers, 50)

Cirie Fields is not only the best social player of Survivor, but perhaps in all of reality television, as she showed on The Traitors. This is why she is often considered the best Survivor player to never win. In a crazy twist of fate, Cirie is the only player to play repeatedly yet still has never been eliminated by a straightforward vote (Panama fire-making, Micronesia surprise Final Two, Heroes vs. Villains idoled out, Game Changers advantagegeddon). Cirie's social game is what always carries her despite horrible challenge performance, but unfortunately, challenge performance is also why she never makes it to the end. She is consistently loved by everyone every time she plays, and uses that to her masterful advantage.
2. Sandra Diaz-Twine (Pearl Islands, Heroes vs. Villains, Game Changers, Winners at War)

Sandra is the first-ever two-time winner and self-proclaimed queen of Survivor. While many felt she deserved to win her first season against Lil, her second win was considered more controversial. However, Sandra has always managed to get around her poor challenge performances thanks to a strong ability socially, to build bonds and alliances, and use them as leverage to make it far in the game. The difference between her and Cirie is that she has made it to the end of the game, and in doing so, her social game stood out most, clinching her wins.
3. Parvati Shallow (Cook Islands, Micronesia, Heroes vs. Villains, Winners at War)

Parvati is one of the most infamous players in Survivor history, one that men who play the game still cite when they fear any woman making social moves. Parvati is more well-rounded, as she also performs well in challenges, but her claim to fame is her ability to use charm and social relationships to manipulate the entire direction of the game, and has helped lead to some of the most shocking and worst moves in Survivor history. While she did not beat Sandra head-to-head, she is still considered one of the best ever thanks to her incredible social performances on Micronesia and Heroes vs. Villains.
4. Kim Spradlin-Wolfe (One World, Winners at War)

Kim is yet another winner on the list (sense a theme?) and also the first to also appear on the best physical players list. This just speaks to how dominant her win actually was. She was able to make incredible bonds with people thanks to finding ways to connect and relate to people on an individual level. She utilized these social bonds to create a true social strategy, navigating each stage of the game with ease and control. Kim is not known purely for her social game, but that does not mean she is not among the best of the best.
5. Jeremy Collins (San Juan Del Sur, Cambodia, Winners at War)

While the Boston firefighter did not win his original season, he played with incredible poise and adaptability in his second season that allowed him to solidify one of the more dominant wins of the newer eras. He also happens to be the only male player on the list. While Jeremy is clearly physically gifted with strategic chops, his true gift is his social adaptation. He has faced highly challenging situations in his seasons, but his social charm, charisma, and ability to use alliances and bonds to navigate unpredictability and shifting dynamics flawlessly.
Honorable mention: New Era
New era social players have not had the same amount of time to truly establish themselves to the level of any of the players on this list, all of whom have played multiple times. That said, there are clearly players whose social game and likability in the new era have been their calling card, and in time, they could be considered among the best. Maryanne Oketch (42), Erica Casupanan (41), Rachel LaMont (47), Dee Valladares (45, 50), and Kyle Fraser (48, 50) have all leaned on strong social games to carry them to victory.
