Dutton Ranch star teases upcoming Survivor casting announcement

One of the stars of the Yellowstone spin-off series just revealed that it’s just a matter of “when” not “if” they'll be on Survivor.

There are always celebrity casting rumors floating around the world of Survivor. Especially when so many prominent figures have expressed their love for the show and fans take that and run with it. But the latest name dropped in these rumors doesn’t seem to be a rumor at all.

In a conversation with Daily Mail at a recent event in Los Angeles, Dutton Ranch breakout star Natalie Alyn Lind revealed that at the Survivor 50 live finale, she was, “talking to the producers and they said they want me…” and now it’s just a scheduling game to figure out if it “makes sense with filming season two of Dutton Ranch.”

We’ve never seen such a blatant casting tease in the history of Survivor—that didn’t come from CBS itself. But the Paramount+ show star confirmed, “I will be on Survivor. It's not an if, it's a when!”

But don’t worry Dutton Ranch fans, she’s not taking time off from her acting commitments to make her reality TV dreams come true. She’s very dedicated to Dutton Ranch first and then, when they can make Survivor work, she’ll happily hop on a plane to Fiji.

Like I said, Survivor isn’t a stranger to having celebrities join the cast—including actors—but we’ve yet to see a new contestant who is on a current hit show take to the competition. Names like Lisa Whelchel and Mike White both finished as runner-ups on their season, but the projects they were best known for at the time were slightly behind them. Mike White, of course, would famously go on to create the hit series The White Lotus, inspired by his time on the island for Survivor: David vs. Goliath

Fan-favorite Jonathan Penner was a frequent background actor on some hit shows before appearing on Survivor: Cook Islands and later returning for Survivor: Micronesia and Survivor: Philippines. And actor Wyatt Nash began his screen career after appearing on Survivor: Redemption Island under his birth name, Matt Elrod.

While Mike White actually delayed the filming of the latest season of The White Lotus so he could compete on Survivor 50, it doesn’t seem like that will be the case for Natalie. In fact, it was quite the opposite when she confirmed, “I have prior commitments so I'm going to stay loyal to Dutton Ranch and then I'm gonna go on.”

If (or should I say when?) Natalie goes on Survivor, she will be the first prominent actor to appear on the show since we entered the new era of the game. And the fact that she’s already in the Paramount family has us wondering if she’ll be a target on whatever season she ends up on. Only time will tell.
