Let's talk about "fame." After getting voted out of Survivor 50 episode 4, Mike White, the creator of HBO's The White Lotus, opened up to Entertainment Tonight about the details that fans can look forward to going into The White Lotus season 4.
Production on season 4 is expected to begin in April 2026. Filming is taking place in Saint-Tropez, France, specifically at the Château de La Messardière. Several cast members have been confirmed including Helena Bonham Carter, Sandra Bernhard, Kumail Nanjiani, Max Greenfield, Chris Messina, Alexander Ludwig, AJ Michalka, Steve Coogan, Chloe Bennet, Charlie Hall, Jarrad Paul, and others.
During the interview with Entertainment Tonight, Mike noted that season 4 of The White Lotus revolves around being famous. When asked if he has recruited anybody from Survivor 50, Mike mentioned there are discussions in the works and confirmed there will be Survivor cameos in the upcoming season.
In an interview with People, Mike also confirmed the cameos, but he revealed that he hasn't told the players yet.
"We start shooting in a few weeks. The cast is finally coming together. Maybe at some point I'll announce the Survivor people, but I have to tell them first before I tell the world."
This would not be the first time we’ve seen former Survivor players featured in a season of The White Lotus. Mike White has brought a few Survivor contestants from his season on Survivor, David vs. Goliath, including Alec Merlino, who was featured in season one of The White Lotus, Angelina Keeley and Kara Kay, who played in season 2 and was mentioned on the current season of Survivor during one of Angelina’s confessionals, and lastly, Natalie Cole, Carl Boudreaux, and a quick cameo of fellow season 50 contestant, Christian Hubicki in season 3.
In another interview that Survivor posted on socials, Jeff Probst and Mike talk about the inspiration Survivor has on the show, The White Lotus. Probst and White both mention how the visuals and aspects of Survivor have contributed to certain scenes in The White Lotus. Probst even gives fans insight on how Survivor is dropping “White Lotus easter eggs” while filming scenes of Survivor 50 for White to notice.
When Mike begins discussing how past seasons have former Survivor player cameos in The White Lotus, White explains how the previous Survivor cameos are friends from his season of David vs. Goliath, and it was more for fun. But now that fans have noticed the cameos, the brief snippets have gained a lot of excitement, and viewers are putting in their votes as to who might be the next Survivor cameo.
Could it be a player like Ozzy Lusth, who is an early season Survivor contestant and making a big impact on Survivor 50? Or will White bring in a “new era” player like Emily Flippen who helped former David vs. Goliath Survivor player and The White Lotus actor, Christian Hubicki, formulate his blindside in Survivor 50?
