Survivorhas been running at full speed for quite some time now, and the intensity is only set to increase. Currently,Survivor 49is in full swing, with thethird episodeset to air tonight, Oct. 8.
Moreover, we are all gearing up for an exciting milestone asSurvivor 50approaches. While there isn't a specific premiere date yet, we do know it is scheduled for spring 2026.
A new Survivor book is coming soon
As I said, things are about to get even more exciting, as we just received some pretty great news from the executive producer and the show's host himself, Jeff Probst. On hisInstagram account, Jeff revealed that aSurvivorbook will be released to commemorate the show's 50th season and its 25 years on air.
Survivor: Forged by Fire, written by Jeff Probst and published by Simon & Schuster, will be "the definitive, cinematic Survivor book, that takes you inside what it's like to be a player." Jeff also commented on his post that the book will contain thousands of photographs, mostly never-before-seen ones, taking readers on the entire Survivor journey throughout its entire history.
What will the book be about?
Jeff added that the book will begin with the arrival of players at the game, their life in the jungle, the challenges they face, how they navigate twists and advantages, as well as their experience at Tribal Council. As Jeff expresses, "the photos are evocative, emotional, dramatic, and even historic."
Additionally, Jeff reveals that the book will include his personal diary entries from the early seasons of the show, which he wrote during filming. This was a highly emotional experience for the Emmy-winning host, as he reflected on his thought process while filming these memorable seasons. As he looked back, he noticed what he had learned since those days.
As for the most historic moments of the show, Jeff adds that he will share what he thought and experienced at the time, as well as his thoughts about them now, twenty-plus years later. There are hundreds of moments to choose from. While we won't know which will be represented, some that might be included, I would presume it would be Richard Hatch winningSurvivor: Borneo, the majestic shot locations of Survivor: Africa, the piracy moments ofSurvivor: Pearl Islands, some behind-the-scenesmoments fromSurvivor: All-Stars, and plenty more.
When will Survivor: Forged by Fire be released?
Jeff disclosesthat Survivor: Forged by Firehas been in development for over a year. The book is now available for pre-order and will be officially released on February 24, 2026.
Jeff wraps up the video by thanking viewers and fans, especially for being part of the Survivor community, as the show couldn't have outlasted for twenty-five years without them. With his charismatic grin, Jeff bids farewell to everyone, saying, "See you on the island."
Fans and alums were quick to proclaim theirexcitement in the comments of the post. For instance, Troyzan fromSurvivor: One WorldandSurvivor: Game Changerswrote that he will buy a bunch of books, and even AustralianSurvivorhost Jonathan LaPaglia added a fire emoji too.
I, for one, have already pre-ordered mine!
