Jeff Probstjust dropped some huge news forSurvivorfans from the set of Survivor 50 out in Fiji!Survivor 50is officially filming, as of Friday, June 6.
Jeff announced the start of filming in a new video posted on theSurvivorInstagram. In the video, Jeff revealed that they had just completed the Marooning Challenge with all 24 returning players in theSurvivor 50cast. Jeff also shared that the results of the challenge comes down to the wire, so that's a spoiler to keep in mind when we're tuning in for theSurvivor 50premiere in 2026.
"We had our Marooning challenge this morning, and this is what I know so far," Jeff said in the video. "We have 24 players who have an incredible attitude. Every single person basically said the same thing, 'I want to play hard and I want to have fun.' That was a big theme, because a lot of returning players said, you know, I've gotten so caught up in the game that I forget that I'm having this incredible adventure and I want to do both."
And, about that update on the challenge?
"The other thing that impressed me was they went full tilt on that first challenge," Jeff continued. "It's competitive. It's dramatic. It comes down to a close finish. But, regardless of who wins, what I saw in all 24 players is pure desire."
Okay, Jeff, I'm interested! You got me!
It's been a whirlwind of a few weeks forSurvivorfans. On May 21, we found outKyle Fraseris thewinner ofSurvivor 48.One week later, Jeff announced theSurvivor 50 castfeaturing 24 returning players from many eras of the series. That was also the same day the cast flew out to Fiji. Then, just a few days after that, the game is officially on.
We also know that Survivor 50 is going to be a 26-day season, just like everynew era seasonofSurvivor.Based on this information aboutSurvivor 50starting filming on June 6, we know thatSurvivor 50will crown a winner on Wednesday, July 2. I don't think we'll find out the winner, or rumored winner, until much later, but that's the day that one of theSurvivor 50players will win this season and become an icon.

In the days leading up to filming, there were someSurvivor 50leaks.Thanks to some challenge pics from Fiji, we learned that there will be three tribes to start the season. I'm assuming that means that we'll have eight players on each tribe. And, we also learned the tribe colors, too!
It's going to be a while until we find out new information aboutSurvivor 50,but we'll be sure to keep you posted on all the latest development.
