This Modern Family actress says being on Survivor would be the best Mother’s Day present

The EmmyⓇ-Award winning actress shared her love for Survivor on a recent appearance on TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle.

There have been a lot of moms on Survivor, most of which have performed really well with their drive for showing their kids they can do anything. And now, one of America’s favorite TV moms is throwing her hat in the ring, fully prepared to dive into the next season of the long-running reality competition show.

Modern Family’s Julie Bowen, while appearing on a recent episode of TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle, was more than enthusiastic when Sheinelle Jones asked if she’d love being told she’d be a competitor on the next season of Survivor as a Mother’s Day gift. The two-time EmmyⓇ-Award winning actress excitedly dropped her jaw just at the idea.

Bowen goes on to say she’d “do it in a heartbeat,” and would sign up immediately. Though she voices her concern about how sometimes when “celebrities” compete, people come for them differently than they do other players. But then she calls out Mike White as a two-time player and disregards everything she just said. She’s ready to play and already has a plan to compete if that dream comes true for her.

“I have all these decorative muscles,” the Happy Gilmore actress emphasized, “I could, like, hold on to things,” specifically replicating the classic endurance challenge that’s appeared in 12 seasons of the show, “Get a Grip,” which Ozzy Lusth has won twice.

The one thing she says she wouldn’t be able to do in the game would be eating the grubs and other non-traditionals meals. But lucky for her, that’s a rare occasion in the new era, having only shown up recently in the Survivor 50 auction and both offerings were optional.

Then Jenna Bush Hager asks if there’s ever been a celebrity season, which there hasn’t unless you count the various celebrity involvements and appearances that have occurred across Survivor 50 this year. While fans have been mixed on how that’s affecting the season—and if they enjoy the twists being added by celebrity fans—I think it would be different if we have another season which just happens to include a famous contestant.

In fact, lots of well-known people have appeared—and done well!—over the last 25 years of Survivor outside of Mike White. Actress Lisa Whelchel was runner-up of Survivor: Philippines while football star Brad Culpepper competed on Survivor: Blood vs. Water before returning for Survivor: Game Changers where he placed second. R&B Singer Taj Johnson-George made it to the Final Four of Survivor: Tocantins and many other popular folks in other seasons placed not far behind that.

Would you be down for a Survivor celebrity season? It might give Zac Brown a chance to get on the show in a competitive capacity and we’d finally have the possibility of seeing Billie Eilish play her own idol. Something to think about!
