We're less than one month away from the Survivor 50 premiere on Wednesday, Feb. 25, and CBS has unveiled the official cast photo for the new season and shared the synopsis for the season premiere.

Unfortunately, a big "unforeseen injury" in the first days of the game has massive repercussions. That's what it sounds like anyway.

According to CBS, the Survivor 50 premiere is titled "Epic Party," and it's a three-hour episode. The game is set to kick off in a huge way, and we're going to see multiple players eliminated, most likely.

Here's the official synopsis, via CBS:

Any time I see "injury" in a synopsis for a new episode of Survivor, I immediately think of a medical evacuation. That's the big fear, obviously, that one of these players will not be able to see their Survivor return through because of an injury. We've seen so many players pulled from the game throughout history, and it's always heartbreaking.

To me, it doesn't sound like we're going to see a player pulled from the game immediately. From that description, my best guess is that we'll see someone get injured and try to power through the challenge while the rest of the tribe tries to support them. It's entirely possible, though, that after the challenge, Jeff Probst and the medical team could evaluate the player and pull them from the game at a later date or time. We'll just have to see out it all shakes out.

We've also seen the first official trailer for Survivor 50, and it features a very brief look at what we expect will be one of the first few challenges.

The rest of the synopsis for the season premiere doesn't feel very interesting to me, honestly. I don't really see a lot of information. We will learn the results of some of the fan votes, which will likely shape the game in some form or fashion. It's too hard too speculate about that now, but all will be revealed in time.

I also learned, thanks to Dalton Ross of Entertainment Weekly, that the season premiere will basically be the first two episodes of the season in one super-sized episode.

Now, that doesn't necessarily mean that we'll see two eliminations, but it also doesn't mean that we'll only see two eliminations. I have a feeling that we're going to see more players voted out much more quickly than previous seasons simply because of math. There are 23 players to eliminate in 26 days, rather than the normal 18 players for new era seasons.

In other words, things are about to get wild! We'll be covering Survivor 50 all season long!

Stay tuned for more news about Survivor 50 and watch the season premiere on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+.
