Ozzy Lusth admits he still thinks about Amanda Kimmel after their Survivor showmance

The five-time Survivor player admits he has more regrets from his time on Survivor than just being eliminated with an idol in his pocket…twice.

Over the years, Survivor has given us a handful of talked-about showmances. Most notably, of course, is Boston Rob Mariano and Amber Brkich from Survivor: All-Stars—who got engaged at the finale and have now been married for over twenty years.

But there’s one past Survivor relationship that really put the “show” in showmance. Back in Survivor: Micronesia—before the iconic Black Widow Brigade alliance assembled—we got the “Malakal Couples Alliance” consisting of Parvati Shallow and James Clement along with Amanda Kimmel and Ozzy Lusth

While Parvati and James were flirty and cuddled in the shelter, there was one episode in particular where fans realized that Ozzy and Amanda’s relationship was not just about staying tight for the alliance. They were actually very into each other. And unfortunately, their chemistry had players like Cirie Fields and Jonathan Penner awake in the middle of the night, wondering “what the heck are they doing?”

In fact, it was that exact moment that encouraged Cirie to separate Amanda and Parvati from the boys, inciting their blindsides so the three women could go on and take over the game.

But in a recent video of Survivor 50 players reacting to past iconic moments on the show, one clip that involved Amanda had Ozzy confessing, “I still feel like I fumbled Amanda…”

You can watch the players react to multiple clips, below, but we’re still stuck on the fact that Ozzy seems to be stuck on Amanda. We got a little more insight into their relationship when Ozzy appeared on the Drop Your Buffs Podcast back in 2021—the two dated after their time together in Micronesia before breaking up after the finale and then getting back together briefly around Ozzy’s appearance in Survivor: South Pacific—which definitely makes it sound like Ozzy more than “fumbled” their relationship.

And his final comment on the matter in the above video, “I’m sorry Amanda,” has us wondering if she really was “the one that got away” for Ozzy. Amanda, however, has now been happily married for more than ten years, she and her husband sharing two kids. The only on-again, off-again relationship she has is whether or not she’d return to Survivor.

Based on her initial exit interviews, it seems she never plans to return, but in some follow-up interviews over the years, she’s expressed a desire to go back and win. With her not appearing on Survivor 50, it seems her latest stance is “off-again.” Especially now knowing how Ozzy feels, there’s no doubt the show’s casting directors wouldn’t have loved to get her and Ozzy back out on the island together after all these years.

So while we didn’t get the little “Ozz-lets” that Cirie predicted, it’s very interesting to learn about Ozzy’s regret when it comes to his Survivor showmance.
