Survivor 46, episode 8 preview: This game is getting crazy

Episode 8 of Survivor 46 features something Jeff has never seen before in the game. What could it be?

Survivor 46 is just starting to get really good! For me, the game started a little bit slow with Yanu losing so many challenges and the Siga and Nami tribes getting to coast until the merge. We're officially two episodes past the merge, and it looks like Survivor 46, episode, titled "Hide 'N Seek," just might be the wildest episode of the season.

Episode 8 date and time

Survivor 46, episode 8 will be released at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday, April 17, 2024. The episode, like almost every episode this season, will also be 90 minutes long, which is so awesome because we get to see so much more camp life and tribal council. I'm a huge fan of the longer episodes!

There are only five episodes left after episode 8, and you can see the sense of urgency in how the players are starting to play. Remember, in the new era of Survivor, these are only 26-day journeys, not the 39 that we're used to. We also learned the season finale will be on May 22.

Chaos reigns in Next Time on Survivor preview for episode 8

Cancel Christmas
“Cancel Christmas” – Drop your buffs! Castaways hit the ground running to figure out where the cracks are within the other tribes. The players hope to find new life in the game if they can earn the merge, on SURVIVOR, Wednesday, April 3 (8:00-9:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*. After Tim and Soda were eliminated in episode 7, things back at camp have officially gone haywire. In the Next Time on Survivor preview for episode 8, Hunter is nowhere to be found as the other players call out his name. Then, the camera cuts to reveal Hunter hiding in a tree for some reason! We've seen other players hide in trees to gather, but none have done it better than two-time Survivor winner, Tony Vlachos, who created his spy nest to gather critical intel. Perhaps, that's who Hunter is channeling.

That's not even the weirdest part of the episode, though. We see Tevin laughing hysterically, Liz yelling "Shut up!" during a confessional, and Q confessing that "she" broke his rules. We don't know who she is, obviously, but it's assumed to be one of his alliance members, Tiffany or Kenzie. He also says, "I'm a mob boss." It seems Q doesn't mind to try to control every facet of the game, and it's clearly rubbing people the wrong way.

Charlie confesses to Maria that, "the game is getting crazy!" And, yes, Charlie, we concur.

Episode 8 features something Jeff has never seen before

The most interesting part of the preview is the final clip. It's at tribal council, and Jeff says, "Never seen anything like this." Soda puts a hand over her mouth in shock! What could it possibly be?

I honestly have no idea. There have been 46 seasons of Survivor. How could something new happen at tribal council?

I hope it's not a massive fight or something between contestants, but we've basically seen that before. We've seen players going at each other during tribal council, so I don't think it's that.

The only thing that I can think of is multiple people playing idols and Shot in the Darks because they literally can't come to any conclusion to who is voting for whom. That's my best guess!

We'll just have to wait to find out on Wednesday, April 17! Stay tuned!
