Survivor 47 to feature two well-known podcasters

Will the cast recognize the two podcasters who will play Survivor in season 47? Will it have an impact on the game either way?

The premiere for Survivor 47 is less than two months away, and fans can start to anticipate another great season of the best reality show in TV history.

As fans get to know more about the cast over the summer, two names stick out for Survivor 47. While there aren't any household names, there are a couple of podcasters many viewers might recognize.

Who are the two podcasters on Survivor 47?

One cast member, confirmed by USA Today, is Jon Lovett.

Lovett, who should not be confused with actor Jon Lovitz or singer/actor Lyle Lovett, is a writer and producer. He also served as a speechwriter for former President Barack Obama.

He's written on and produced such shows as HBO's The Newsroom, starring Jeff Daniels, and 1600 Penn, a show he also created. Currently, he is the co-host of a political podcast called "Pod Save America."

It will be interesting to see how many of his fellow cast mates will recognize the 41-year-old podcaster.

Aysha Welch, another cast member in Survivor 47, appears on "Rob Has a Podcast" on occasion. That podcast discusses the goings-on of reality shows, including Survivor.

As someone who studies the game, tactics, and strategies, it will be very interesting to see just how she can translate that knowledge when she's in the game.

Of the two, Welch probably has the better chance of being recognized, especially if there are a lot of super fans this season. A super fan will be more likely to watch a podcast like "Rob Has a Podcast" than a casual fan.

Survivor 47, which premieres on Sept.18, will feature the same basic format that has been in place since returning after COVID-19 delays, for better or worse. It will be 26 fast-paced days, and there will certainly be some twists thrown in here and there to keep the players off-balance. Will we see any idols played? After season 46, all bets are off.

After the two-hour premiere, Survivor will air as 90-minute episodes for the rest of the season, as was the case for seasons 45 and 46. This gives the audience much more time to see what camp life is like and more time to get to know each cast member.

It will be fun to watch and see how many people recognize each podcaster and how that will affect the gameplay. Will Welch be able to use her knowledge of the game to her benefit, or will it hurt her? How will the political podcaster Lovett find life in the wilderness? Just two more months until we find out!
