CBS just announced theSurvivor 47premiere date, and it's actually really good news for fans! While many CBS shows are getting pushed to later in the fall,Survivor 47premieres on CBS in just two, short months!
According to a report fromVariety,Survivor 47premieres onWednesday, Sept. 18.Like most new seasons,Survivor 47features a two-hour season premiere.
That's a full week ahead of when we were expecting the premiere. In more recent seasons, CBS has opted for a later release for new seasons ofSurvivorin the fall. This year, we're getting the premiere in mid-September. Yay for us! Most of the rest of the fall CBS shows got bumped to the week of Oct. 14 for the respective season premieres. That's basically a full month afterSurvivor 47premieres. We'll take the win, for sure. This spring, CBS announced that the show would return in September, so we're glad they stuck with that instead of bumping it to October.
According toCBS,Survivor 47started filming around the time thatSurvivor 46finished airing on CBS. That season sawKenzie Petty best Charlie Davisby two votes to win the most recent season. Production ended on the new season sometime this summer!
We have not seen the full cast ofSurvivor 47announced, but we do know that Jon Lovett, a comedian and host of thePod Save Americapodcast, has joined the cast. There will be no returning players inSurvivor 47.Probstannounced that newsat an event a while back. In fact, there are no returning players through season 47, season 48, and season 49.Survivor 50,however, has been reported to be another all-star season with a full cast of returning players.

Other reminders forSurvivor 47!New episodes will air every Wednesday throughout the fall, assuming there are no interruptions for, say, the election or other events. The final should air sometime in early December!
If you haven't been following along lately,Survivor 47episodes will likely be90-minutes throughout the seasonaside from the season premiere and season finale/reunion special.
Oh, and new seasons in theNew Era ofSurvivorare only 26 days of gameplay. In the past, new seasons were 39 days of gameplay. It's definitely changed the game andnot always in a good way.
