Rachel is now at the bottom of the Gata tribe after the vote to blindside Anika Dhar in Survivor 47 episode 5, "The Scales Be Tippin." Now, we finally have our first look at the follow out in the sneak peek at the next episode.
Survivor 47 episode 6, "Feel the FOMO," has arrived, thanks to CBS. In the first look at episode 6, Rachel LaMont is feeling like she's on the bottom of the Gata tribe after the last vote. Rachel, too, was blindsided by Sam Phalen and Sierra Wright voting with Andy Rueda to take out Anika.
Rachel was 'absolutely taken aback' by the Anika vote
The clip begins with Rachel explaining to Andy why she voted for him, that it wasn't personal, and she thought she was doing what the consensus of the tribe was doing. She adds that it's not an excuse, but that's what she thought the plan was.
Honestly, what else is she going to say? Andy might be frustrated with her, but he knew what the plan was the whole time, too. He contributed to Rachel thinking that the plan was to vote him out. He could have flipped on Sam and Sierra to work with Rachel and Anika, but he didn't. He played his part, and now, Rachel feels like she's on the bottom of the Gata tribe.
"I was absolutely taken aback by tonight's vote," Rachel says in an interview. "It felt like a big betrayal, and it's not a good reality to be at the bottom of the tribe, especially when you consider, like, wow, I really thought Andy was at the bottom of the tribe for the last week. And, somehow, I am the person at the bottom of the tribe."
Sam explains why he didn't play the hidden immunity idol
In the next clip from the sneak peek, we see Sam and Sierra celebrating the vote blindsiding Anika, which "went about as well as it could go," according to Sam.
Sam also fills in the audience why he decided to keep the hidden immunity idol instead of making sure that he was safe during the vote.
"I chose not to play my hidden immunity idol," Sam said. "Tonight was the last tribal council it was good for. And, I didn't play it tonight because Andy doesn't know I have said idol. And, I didn't want to lose trust, so I chose to see if I can use it down the road as a decoy or a fake or something to just have some fun with."
So, that's where things stand in Survivor 47 episode 6. It's not a super, in-depth look at the new episode. But, we do know from the preview from the end of episode 5, the tribes are coming together or the merge/pre-merge individual portion of the new season in the new episode. We can't wait!
