We've reached the end of Survivor 49! There's only one episode left before the season finale, and we know a little bit about to what to expect in Survivor 49 episode 12, thanks to a few previews and the episode synopsis.
With two episodes left, there are six Survivor 49 players remaining: Steven Ramm, Savannah Louie, Kristina Mills, Sophi Balerdi, Rizo Velovic, and Sage Ahrens-Nichols. One of those players is going to win Survivor 49, three are going to make the Final Tribal Council, five will make the finale, and one is going home in tonight's episode.
I have a feeling who that might be, but let's talk about the episode first!
What time is Survivor 49 on tonight?

Survivor 49 episode 12 is titled "The Die is Cast." It airs at 8 p.m. EST on Wednesday, Dec. 10, on CBS and Paramount+.
As always, West Coast viewers must wait until 8 p.m. PST on Wednesday, Dec. 10, to tune in for the episode.
Remember, next week, the Survivor 49 finale is not 90 minutes. We're getting a full three-hour episode for the Survivor 49 finale, so plan accordingly, get some snacks, and settle in because it's going to be a long, exciting night.
What to expect in Survivor 49 episode 12
So far, we've seen a few sneak peeks at "The Die is Cast" in Survivor 49 episode 12. In the first sneak peek, the tribe returns from Tribal Council celebrates after blindsiding Sophie Segreti. It's a party honestly, and Steven talks about why he is happy that Sophie is sitting on the jury right now.
I'm not so sure I share Steven's enthusiasm, but I do understand that Steven is happy to be this far in the game with a clear path to the end.
In the second sneak peek, Sophi talks about flipping on Rizo and Savannah with Kristina, which is music to Kristina's ears. But, it's still unclear if Sophi is really going to make that big move and take out Rizo and Savannah.
She seems up for it, but will she actually do it? I have some questions about if that's actually going to happen when Survivor is teasing that blindside in a sneak peek like this.
We also have the synopsis for the episode, thanks to CBS:
"With the biggest reward of the season on the line, one member of a newly established alliance hopes to earn the extra sustenance to propel themselves further in the game. Castaways’ advantages come into focus as the days left in the game dwindle. Then, one alliance member must decide if they should flip against one of their own at a jaw-dropping tribal council, on SURVIVOR..."
Who will get voted out of Survivor 49 episode 12?

So, I think we're being set up for the classic bait-and-switch in Survivor 49. Everyone thinks Sophi is ready to cut off ties with Rizo and Savannah, steal Rizo's idol, and take out one of those two players. That's probably the best move she could make for winning the game, but so many things have to go right for her to pull off such an epic move.
First of all, she needs Rizo and Savannah to not win immunity. Honestly, she's probably pretty safe since Rizo has not been good in individual challenges, but Savannah is a huge challenge threat! She could easily win immunity.
So, Sophi needs a clear shot at one or both of Savannah or Rizo, but then she has to convince every player left not named Rizo or Savannah to go along with her plan to steal Rizo's idol and then vote him out. That's a huge risk for Sophi to reveal her Knowledge is Power advantage, especially when Steven also has an advantage. He has to trust Sophi won't turn on him and take his advantage. And, most importantly, this all has to be done in secret without Savannah or Rizo knowing about it because once they do, Sophi's official done in that alliance.
Now, if it works out, Sophi looks like the hero, but she would still have to make it through two more Tribal Councils with one player (Rizo or Savannah) who will not work with her and three players who have basically been voting together since the merge in Steven, Kristina, and Sage.
Does Sophi even get through the next vote if she upsets the status quo right now? I don't think so!
For Sophi, it makes more sense to go one more vote, then steal Rizo's idol when she's right at the end of the game, and only needs to survive one vote.
So, that's what I think is going to happen! That, or she'll use her advantage to stop Steven and vote him out in episode 12 because he's emerging as a massive threat to win.
Heading into episode 12, I believe Rizo and Savannah are about as safe as they could be right now because they're a solid three with Sophi, and she needs them at this point just as much as they need her. So, to me, it's much more likely that those three could pull in Sage or Kristina in a vote to blindside Steven, even though he has an extra vote. Even with his advantage, Steven can't win if all five of the other remaining players write his name down.
I also think there's a fair chance that the other players look at Sage's connections on the jury and choose to vote her out, too. If Sophi, Savannah, and Rizo stay together, they could pull in one other player to vote out Sage.
So, to sum it all up, Sophie should definitely find a way to vote out Rizo or Savannah, but I do not think that will happen. Instead, I think Sage and Steven are the most likely players to be voted out in episode 12.
We'll have to wait and see how it all plays out at 8 p.m. EST on CBS and Paramount+, but I feel pretty confident one of those two are not making the finale.
