Survivor 49 episode 5 has all the makings of a great episode! We just had our first big Tribal Council of the season after an epic tribe swap turned the game upside down for a number of players.

Heading into the new episode, we're about to find out if the old majority alliances will continue to win out, or if there's starting to be some wiggle room for the players on the bottom. The latest sneak peeks at the new episode confirm there is some drama on the way.

What time is Survivor on tonight?

Survivor 49 episode 5, "I'm a Wolf, Baby," airs during the show's normal timeslot on CBS. You can watch the new episode at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. C on CBS and Paramount+. As usual, West Coast fans will watch at 8 p.m. PT on CBS and Paramount+.

The episode will last 90 minutes like most of the episodes of the season outside of the two-hour season premiere and, likely, two-hour season finale, but CBS has not revealed that yet.

Who's in trouble in Survivor 49 episode 5?

This is what I really want to talk about! For me, the Survivor 49 episode 5 synsopsis is hinting and possibly giving away the player who will get voted out in the new episode. That player is Shannon Fairweather.

Here's the synopsis of the new episode, via CBS:

"One castaway’s scheming gets them into hot water when their tribe realizes the same conversation has been repeated to each of them. Two castaways are sent on a grueling journey. Then, one castaway’s series of missteps leaves one of their tribemates hungry for revenge, on SURVIVOR..."

So, I believe the first line of that synopsis is talking about Shannon, who is officially in the minority on the new Kele tribe. She's trying to work her way off the bottom, and in the new sneak peek of the episode, Shannon tells all the former Hina players that she is willing to vote out her ally Sage Ahrens-Nichols to stay alive in the game. She also tells them all variations of "You're my top ally," or "I feel the strongest about our connection." You can watch Shannon do that in the video above.

So, Shannon is in trouble, and she's probably getting voted out because she's playing so hard. No one, in the new era, seems to respect that level of dishonesty.

But, Shannon isn't the only player in trouble. There are two others on the chopping block, too, and that's Jason Treul, who was basically unwilling to work with his new tribe at the last Tribal Council. Jason, who is a challenge beast when it comes to puzzles, has a chance to earn his tribe's respect and safety if he can prove that he's willing to work with them moving forward.

And, the reason there's even a glimmer of that is because Jawan Pitts, who is in an alliance, although a weak one, with Savannah Louie, keeps making her mad by using her stuff! This week, he takes her water bottle after taking her bag of clean clothes and filling it with sticks earlier in the season.

Jawan might have just booked his flight back home.

We're going to find out what's real and what's just fodder in Survivor 49 episode 5! We're probably not heading into the most exciting episode of the season, but I do think we're going to find out a lot about where loyalties lie.
