Every day, we get closer to the Survivor 50 cast announcement. And as usual, we hear another rumor about the Survivor 50 cast. Well, there's one making waves online thanks to Redmond's post on the Inside Survivor Patreon, and it suggests one of the stars of Survivor 47 will return for Survivor 50.

A recent update made on April 21, 2025, which has caught on via Reddit and Twitter, suggests that one of the women for Survivor 47 is likely to join the Survivor 50 cast. Many fans are speculating that this means Genevieve Mushaluk, who finished fifth on Survivor 47, has been confirmed to return.

There are only a few players, realistically, who it could be, and it seems like Genevieve is the fans' pick from the season to return, based on reading the various Reddit threads.

While no names are being reported yet as locks for Survivor 50, this is obviously a good sign! Redmond of Inside Survivor waits to confirm the cast list until the players are actually filming the season, which is likely only a few short weeks away.

Now, back to Genevieve. If there's one player from Survivor 47 who fans want to see again, the answer is probably Genevieve, so if she's really coming back, that would be great news. She was an incredible strategic player last season, and she made her big move a little bit too soon. When Genevieve's threat level increased, she didn't back away from the challenge. Instead, she partnered with Sam Phalen and Andy Rueda to pull off one of the best blindsides we've seen in a long time in Operation: Italy.

It would be really interesting to see Genevieve play again with a reputation for being such a good strategic player. There are more than a few players rumored to be in Survivor 50 who would make great allies for Genevieve, but we'll discuss that later.

Honestly, Genevieve had as good of a chance to win her season as anyone. If she's in the Final Three with Rachel and Sam, I wonder if things play out differently.

Two other women from Survivor 47 would be great fits in Survivor 50. Winner Rachel LaMont closed that season in an epic fashion, so I'd love to see how she would play the game differently. Caroline Vidmar is another player from Survivor 47 who would be really interesting to see in Survivor 47, as well. Those are the three women from Survivor 47 who I would assume were considered very seriously for the new season. It sounds like Rachel is out because Survivor 50 might be a no-winners season. That's what other rumors have suggested, too.

I'd also throw Andy and Sam in that mix of Survivor 47 players we'd love to see in Survivor 50, but it doesn't sound like that's going to be an option.

We'll continue sharing updates about the Survivor 50 cast as we find out! It looks like things are happening behind the scenes! And, we still have five more episodes of Survivor 48 to enjoy before a long summer break. Enjoy it, Survivor fans! Things are happening!
