Survivor 50 just started filming in Fiji! We already know 22 of the 24 returning Survivor players competing in the 50th season of the hit reality series, but there are still two mystery players from Survivor 49 who have yet to be announced publicly. Until now.
Well, it's not technically official, but outlets are starting to report who those Survivor 49 players. According to a report from Inside Survivor, the two Survivor 49 players who will be playing Survivor 50 are Savannah Louie and Rizo Velovic.
You can see the mystery players on the Survivor 50 casting announcement poster that was shared by CBS, Survivor, and others on social media on Wednesday, May 28, the same day that Jeff Probst revealed most of the Survivor 50 cast.
We don't know anything about these players yet, other than that Rizo calls himself "The Rizgod." I have no idea what it means, but I'm intrigued. We have seen both of these players in the Survivor 49 teaser that aired during the Survivor 48 finale.

Obviously, I understand why Survivor hasn't officially announced these players yet. First of all, we haven't actually seen the Survivor 49 cast confirmed yet. That won't happen until the end of the summer and a few weeks before Survivor 49 premieres in September 2025. We don't know the release date yet.
On top of that, we don't know if Rizo or Savannah will make it very far on their season. We have winners in the mix for Survivor 50 with Kyle Fraser and Dee Valladares, but would Survivor cast the Survivor 49 winner in Survivor 50? There isn't that big of a gap between seasons, so I have a hard time thinking that they would have some play for the full 26 days and then immediately head back out for Survivor 50.
Counterpoint, though! I have a hard time imagining that Rizgod and Savannah could make such a big impression to play with these Survivor legends if they don't even make the merge or something like that. It's going to be really interesting to watch Survivor 49, knowing those two players will be playing Survivor 50 a few short weeks after the events of Survivor 49 take place.
I don't know how I feel about this, honestly. I know we've seen players play back-to-back seasons of Survivor. Some Survivor legends have done it, including Boston Rob, Rupert Boneham, Russell Hantz, and more. Not all of those players went straight into filming the new season, though, simply because of how Survivor used to work. Since season 19, they have been filming consecutive seasons in the same location.
I guess my biggest qualm is that they picked these two players over some absolute Survivor legends, including Jerri Manthey, Malcolm Freberg, Jesse Lopez, and more.
We'll see if CBS got it right when we see how it all plays out in Survivor 49 and Survivor 50. As mentioned, Survivor 49 premieres this fall, but we'll be waiting until February 2026 for Survivor 50 to premiere on CBS. Who will win? I can't wait to find out!
