We're three episodes into Survivor 50, and we've had three relatively easy votes to start the season. Q Burdette was the latest victim in episode 3 after the tribe swap. Only one person was surprised by that outcome, and that was Q's alliance member on the old Vatu tribe, Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick.
In the new sneak peek at Survivor 50 episode 4, "Knife to the Heart," which airs on Wednesday, March 18, Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick and the new Vatu tribe return from Tribal Council. Stephenie immediately acknowledges that she's on the outside of the core alliance.
"Angelina, I voted for you," Stephenie says in the clip before hugging Angelina Keeley. "I'm sorry."
In a confessional, Stephenie reveals what happened.
"At Tribal Council tonight, Q and I, we had a good plan in place for Angelina. We're thinking we got Emily (Flippen) and Christian (Hubicki), and we get to Tribal Council and Q goes home. My heart, like, sank. He really was in my corner. So, now what happens next? Are they gonna actually blindside me?"
Well, Stephenie, it's not a blindside if you see it coming, but it looks like she's in big trouble heading into the new episode.
Stephenie could easily be voted out in episode 4
We see moments like this happen in Survivor all of the time. A pair or group heads to Tribal Council and absolutely gets their world rocked. Q knew he was in trouble when he landed on the new tribe, but it looks like Stephenie was far too trusting that Christian would go along with their plan.
Honestly, it was a bizarre plan because Christian is very well connected with Mike White and Angelina from David vs. Goliath. He's allied with Emily, who clicked with Angelina immediately. Emily did share some important details to gain their trust, but Stephenie and Q were always on the outside looking in on this new tribe.
Now, that Stephenie sees that, she's going to have to play a lot harder to get herself out of this jam. There are going to be opportunities, but if Angelina, Christian, Emily, Mike, and Ozzy Lusth stay connected, there's not a lot that Stephenie can do to work her way in.
Her best bet is just hoping they continue to win challenges, she gets an advantage, or someone in that group has a change of heart and realizes they want to change the game.
Overall, things are not looking good for Stephenie. No one wants to be in this position, but the tribe could have very easily picked her out of the group instead of Q. So, she has a second life in this game, and it's up to her to see what she can do with it. Without a tribe swap, Stephenie seems to be in a rough spot.
Things aren't that simple on Survivor. We often don't see the player who is about to be voted out in the sneak peek before the episode, realizing they are on the chopping block. That's just not how it works, so Stephenie might be safe for one more episode. But, she needs allies, and she needs them quickly.
Watch Survivor 50 episode 4 on Wednesday, March 18!
