It's hard to make Survivor history, but it seems like it's been happening in every episode of Survivor 50. And it just happened again in the Survivor 50 finale.

For the first time in the history of the series, a player has lost in the fire-making challenge two times. Rizo Velovic, the man, the myth, the legend, R-I-Z-G-O-D, RIZGOD, baby, has lost in fire twice. It happened in the Survivor 50 finale.

Not only that, Rizo lost in the fire-making challenge twice in back-to-back seasons. Remember, he lost to Savannah Louie in Survivor 49. I'm confident that record of back-to-back fire losses will stand the test of time. No one else will take that record from Rizo.

After Aubry Bracco won the final immunity challenge of the season, she chose Rizo and Jonathan to make fire against each other. She picked Joe Hunter to sit next to her at Final Tribal Council.

The fire-making challenge was absolutely a blowout. Rizo had basically no chance to win against Jonathan. Joe give him an assist, just like he did with Eva Erickson on Survivor 48. He really looked like he improved, but it was not enough.

Then, the fireworks happened. Jeff Probst accidentally spoiled the results of the fire-making challenge during the Survivor 50 finale and live reunion. They brought Rizo out on stage and Jeff revealed that he lost the challenge, but then he was corrected by Cirie Fields, who pointed out that the fans had not seen the fire-making challenge yet.

It was hilarious. Jeff handled it like a professional, but it did make watching the fire-making challenge, which is usually one of the highlights of the season, very, very anticlimactic.

This is a developing story. More to come...
