Although summer is typically a fun season for many, it can be pretty dull for Survivor fans, as it's the longest stretch without new weekly episodes. However, some thrilling news about Survivor has just been announced, and this time, it comes directly from the show's host.
Jeff Probst posted a short video on social media, which was then reshared by the Survivor fan account, @allwinnerssurvivor, where he revealed that the upcoming Survivor 50 season had just finished filming.
"We just finished 50," Jeff said in the video. "We already finished 49. I just want to send a video and say the same thing we always say: thank you. Because you make it possible in ways that are visible and in ways that nobody ever sees."
Jeff then quickly turns the camera away and records a snippet of the Survivor crew, as their hard work is the reason Survivor is the iconic show we all know and love. Also, Jeff notes that the production crew dismantles the challenges at the end of every season, as well as performing several tasks that viewers never get to see.
In the comments on this post, Survivor 46 player Hunter McKnight shrewdly points out that behind the crew, the final six challenge is the one that can be seen in the background. While it's challenging to pinpoint precisely what the challenge is, it seems to involve some barrels.
With the Fijian sea as a backdrop, and the Survivor 50 logo featuring the "In the Hands of the Fans" subtitle, Jeff then adds that everyone is excited to return to eventually film Survivor 51 and Survivor 52. "
God, we'll be back here for 51 and 52," the Emmy award-winning host proudly says.
Jeff finishes off the video by thanking fans and viewers for their love and support, and loudly exclaiming his love for Fiji, as it has been the permanent Survivor location since Survivor: Millennials vs Gen X back in 2016. Jeff ultimately wraps the video up by saying the word "bula" three times, which means "hello" and "welcome," and Fijians also use it to wish others good life and good health.
Bros not excited at all. I fear #Survivor50 was a flop.

Fans' reaction to the video has been mixed. On the one hand, many celebrate the fact that the show will continue beyond Survivor 50, as this season has also been met with criticism, particularly due to its cast. On the other hand, some fans were pointing out that Jeff doesn't seem to be radiating his usual overjoyful demeanour in the video.
Jeff's Survivor opinions have typically divided fans, as Jeff tends to favor seasons or players that don't end up being "fan favorites" in the end. Most recently, Jeff went above and beyond in numerous interviews, stating that Survivor 48 was one of his the best seasons in the history of Survivor. To put it mildly, Survivor 48 wouldn't rank in the top 20 of seasons for the majority of fans.
Survivor is currently casting for seasons 51 and 52, with submissions being reviewed in August 2025. Filming for Survivor 51 is scheduled to begin in March or April 2026, followed by Survivor 52 in May or June 2026.
