After Survivor 50 left many fan-favorite legends of the game out in the cold, there has been a lot of conversation regarding who failed to secure a place on the historic cast.
Many of these conversations have revolved around why certain legends of the game aren’t coming back for the season, which is understandable. While there are a lot of amazing players coming back for the historic season, there are just as many legends who fans were shocked to see didn’t get the invite to compete in the season.
It’s also led to a question about whether some players have perhaps hung up their buffs for good, with no intentions of returning to the game of Survivor. There are many players who have seemed to suggest they opted out of season 50 as they’re simply done with the game of Survivor – such as Boston Rob – however, there are many others who would still be open to returning to play again.
One of those players is Tony Vlachos, who might not be coming back for Survivor 50 but is not ready to close the door on a return in the future… at least as long as the price is right.

Tony Vlachos hints he’s not opposed to returning to Survivor
Tony Vlachos is arguably one of the best to have played the game over the years. He’s one of only two players who have ever won the game twice, having won both Survivor: Cagayan and Survivor: Winners at War, and is truly one of the all-time greatest to ever play the game.
Many hoped he would return for Survivor 50, but he was one of the many legends excluded from the cast list. His omission left many to question whether he’s perhaps finished with the game; however, it seems Tony is not against returning to the show again so long as the price is right.
“I go wherever the money is,” Tony told Shannon Guss of Rob Has a Podcast when asked if he would be open to returning to the game of Survivor again. “If somebody calls me wherever there’s money, I go to it.”
We definitely respect that approach and while the opportunity to win life-changing amount of money is a key factor in his interest when vetting opportunities these days, it’s not the only thing on Tony’s mind.
“I try my best to bring home as much money as I can, but at the same time, I want to give the entertainment value to the fans who love watching me. I’m never going to be a dud out there. I’m always gonna have fun.”
This is certainly true. Never has Tony failed to deliver memorable runs when competing, and that’s why fans love him: they know he’s always going to be one to watch!
With Survivor continuing to offer up life-changing prizes every season, we could certainly imagine CBS luring him back.
