We all rememberSarah Lacinaas a serious gameplayer in every season she appeared on. From the secret “Cops R Us” alliance with Tony Vlachos inSurvivor: Cagayanto winningSurvivor: Game Changersbefore returning forSurvivor: Winners at Warwhere she secured fourth place in a full circle moment, only barely losing fire to her ally Tony.
She arguably played dynamic games for all three of her go-arounds, making the jury twice and winning once. So it was fun to see her get a little sarcastic withEntertainment Weeklyin a recently released interview procured on theSurvivor 50red carpet.
She reunited with two of her former tribemates,Zeke Smith(Survivor: Game Changers) and Ben Driebergen (Survivor: Winners at War) to answer a few questions about the new era of the series and what they would change about it.
Of course, all three automatically said they’d love to see a return to 39-day seasons, but on top of that, Lacina declared that she wants to see players get “less clothes” in the new era. And no, she doesn’t want to see everyone get stranded on the island in their underwear, but rather she comments on how many more clothes players seem to walk into the game with.
“I think I figured out why it’s 26 days now…” Lacina tells EW and her former tribemates.
“Yeah,they get jacketsnow and all sorts of stuff…blankets!” Ben states before Lacina adds in, jokingly, “Sleeping bags!” The two seem to be commenting on the fact that every time you see a new scene with a new era player, they seem to be wearing a whole new wardrobe, which makes their survival stay on the island just a little more comfortable than the previous winners were allowed to be.
“I think I figured out why it’s 26 days now,” an epiphany strikes Lacina right there on the red carpet, “Because they’ve blown the budget on checked baggage to allow all the castaways all these clothes on the island.”
The three continued to joke with Zeke adding, “Right, because everyone gets like two full 50-pound bags to bring onto the beach.”
“And [the bags] are overweight, so now they can’t afford the 39 days,” Lacina infers, though all three are clearly having a laugh about their amplified correlation between clothes and fewer days in the game.
But despite their teasing on the red carpet, all three were happy to celebrateSurvivor’s50th season together with many of their other former tribemates and allies.
