You know it’s going to be an interesting season when the official trailer forSurvivoris set to “Gangsta's Paradise” by Coolio. Then on top of that to have voiceovers with wild statements, like:
“Chaos can be opportunity, opportunity can create chaos.”
“It’s just so unpredictable, I can’t take it.”
“This game is so crazy. So many twists and turns.”
“Does it get much better?”
And a reminder, all these quotes were most likely pulled from the two-hour premiere episode, which means we’re about to geta lotof action very quickly at the start of the game.

As someone who literally spends her days predicting what’s going to happen next onSurvivor, I have to say that even I thinkSurvivor 51is going to be so rogue that no one can predict what’s going to take place on the island this season.
Every time CBS releases a video with new footage, I immediately have a new prediction—and it usually nullifies the last one.
But there are so many ways that Ihopethis season starts!
After the tribe teaser video, I don’t think this will be the case, but I originally predicted there would be a schoolyard pick—or at least some type of random selection—for tribes. And considering the last time there were only two starting tribes in the game was more than 10 seasons ago forSurvivor: Winners at War, there’s a lot of pressure on this being an active early game.
We already know that someone will be left out of the original tribe make up, we just don’t know how or why and what they’re going to have to do to earn a spot on the tribe—if they have to at all.
And as much asJeff Probstwants us to believe that whales are the theme of this season, I’m actually starting to believe that Probst himself will be the largest contributing factor to the narrative outside of the players. Gettinga tease from himabout retiring followed by all theSurvivor 51trailers that seem to really emphasize his presence (more than I feel like we’ve seen in a while…) has me wondering if the next couple of seasons are going to see him heavily involved in front of the cameras alongside our players.
I thinkSurvivor 50’s challenge participation was a tease of what’s to come in the open era…
But, of course, we’ll have to wait until the premiere airs on Wednesday, September 23 at 8 p.m. ET to find out exactly what we’re in for this season…or at least for the start of it!
