If you’re surprised the answer to this question isn’t Joe Hunter, you’re not alone. Lots of fans expected there to be bad blood between the two fan favorite players after a tumultuous season where Joe basically got upset with every single thing Rick Devens did. But there’s actually a different player that Devens is naming in his exit interview with Page Six.
After playing an incredible game that rivaled that of his first season, Devens became the 8th member of the jury on the latest episode of Survivor 50. And while he’s very excited to have the show return to its live finale format, there’s one player that he’s not too eager to see next Wednesday, May 20.
“I do think there’s going to be drama…” - Rick Devens to Page Six
When asked who he wasn’t thrilled to be reunited with, the two-time player immediately called out his former Cila tribe mate and original Survivor: Borneo castaway Jenna Lewis-Doughtery. “She trolled me the whole season. It just blows my mind.”

As the first player voted out, Jenna received a lot of attention after her departure and she decided to spill all the tea on what went down in those first couple of days. She immediately took to social media after the premiere episode aired and claimed that Devens and his closest ally Christian Hubicki were boasting about how much airtime they were going to get.
But now, Devens is coming forward with his side of the story, saying that Jenna turned a joke into a personal attack. “When we lost the first challenge, I’m like, ‘Hey, good news, guys. We’re going to get airtime because we’re the tribe that loses,” Devens recalls of the early game. And knowing how positive and silly he was throughout the entire season, that sounds exactly like something he would say to try and lighten the mood.
However, Jenna apparently didn’t think it was very funny. And while she didn’t say anything to him when they first reunited after the show at the premiere party, she quickly changed her tune once the press got involved, “In her exit press she’s name-calling and bashing us, and then she just kept doing it all season.” Similar to how Joe felt about Devens' antics in the game, Devens adds of Jenna, “That’s not the way I play the game. So I was just over it.”

According to Devens, he’s also denying the claims Jenna made in her exit interview with Page Six about him, Christian, and Emily Flippen having a pre-game alliance. The only people he claims to have spoken to before the show were Aubry Bracco—who he was excited to rejoin in Fiji after they both appeared on Survivor: Edge of Extinction—and Angelina Keeley who apparently, “reached out to…probably every single person.”
And to address the elephant in the room, Devens and Joe are totally cool now that the game is over. “We’re friends now,” Devens said of his in-game adversary. But there’s still two hours worth of gameplay for fans at home to watch next Wednesday during the live finale that might show us the jury/finalist interaction between the two—if Joe is really on track to make it to the Final Tribal Council like he seems to be.
Tune in next Wednesday, May 20 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+ to watch the finale live!
