Ahead of the Survivor season 35 premiere, you can watch the first six minutes of Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers to set the stage.

The time has almost come where fans can quit twiddling their thumbs and biding time. Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers will premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 27, ending what feels like an eternal hiatus from Jeff Probst, blindsides and so on. It’s a welcomed sight to have the season 35 premiere, “I’m Not Crazy, I’m Confident”, finally arriving.

With that said, it has indeed been an exceptionally long time since we’ve seen anything new from Survivor. So why wait until Wednesday to get at least a little bit of a head start on the Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers premiere?

On Tuesday, one day before episode 1, Entertainment Weekly released the first six minutes of the season 35 premiere. Obviously that means we’re only getting a look at the marooning and how things will begin, but there’s still quite a bit to take from it. Take a look:

The first thing to note is the pseudo-challenge right off of the boat. Having to grab fire 15 feet in the air after swimming and paddling should give viewers some excitement right out of the gate. What’s more, it’s interesting to see this be for a fire-making kit and for flint. Whoever comes in third between these tribes is going to be at a massive disadvantage right from the jump.

Meanwhile, it was interesting to see Chrissy Hofbeck already being concerned about her profession. It’s interesting that she’s on the Heroes tribe along with former NFL player Alan Ball. They are both not heroes in the traditional sense, but more importantly both have financial wealth prior to playing for $1 million. Two players on the same tribe likely trying to hide that makes for an interesting dynamic.

Then there’s Mike Zahalsky, who unfortunately seems to not get the greatest edit right out of the gate. It almost appears as if Probst is talking down to him as a “healer” when talking to him. However, this could be misdirection at the start of the season. Mike seems determined and could be a dark horse.

Frankly, there wasn’t much to learn about the Hustlers tribe from what Ali said on the boat or with what Ryan said in his confessional. With that said, there was a bright and relatively obvious Secret Advantage in the middle of the supplies. Considering some of the preseason talk that we’ve seen about the role advantages will play in this season, whoever sees and nabs that could be rewarded greatly. Sadly, we don’t really get a clue as to who gets it.

This is only six minutes of the hour-long Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers premiere, and we’re already unable to unpack this much. Wednesday night at 8:00 p.m. ET can’t get here soon enough.
