One brave man has done the unthinkable; pore through more than a hundred videos of Survivor players’ non-Survivor content to find the hidden gems.

One thing most diehard Survivor fans do in the offseason is re-watch old seasons to refamiliarize themselves with players and gameplay from the show’s history. Hell, I’m watching Survivor Guatemala right now and am just aghast at how horrible the 114+ heat, the Day 1 death march to camp and mosquitos were to the contestants of the season.

One fan, however, has taken a drastically different approach to the show; finding out how well they fare in televised content outside of reality television.

Vic Shuttee joined former Survivor player Rob Cesternino on Rob Has A Podcast, counting down 15 of the greatest cameos players have made after appearing on television. That means all of Ozzy Lusth and Jonathan Penner’s movie and television appearance of varying levels of cloth do not count, as those moments happened before they were cast to compete for a million-dollar prize in Survivor Cook Islands.

Of course, there’s no denying that the very best example is the infamous appearance of Colby Donaldson on Curb Your Enthusiasm, appearing as a Survivor despite Larry David looking forward to meeting someone who survived the concentration camps of World War II. Some fans may be a bit too young to have remembered it, so there’s a clip to check out below.

However, Vic’s real magic is finding links to the obscure or historic that people may have forgotten about in 2018. For example, we already brought up Sugar Kiper playing a character in L.A. Noire, but I had no idea that Gervase Peterson of Borneo and Blood vs. Water was an animated character! I also was clued into Coach being able to act a little bit, but not in the lead role of a feature-length film!

The importance of this podcast is not only to listen to the clips, but to remember the importance of the show at various levels throughout history. The idea that Sue Hawk could interview 2000’s president-to-be alongside Regis Philbin and steal the show is outrageous now, but not when 40+ million were tuning in each week during Borneo.

You should definitely check out the full podcast at Rob Has A Website, and hope that the segment is popular enough to bring back sometime in the future!
