With the move from professional snaps to screenshots, the Survivor: Winners at War episode 11 press photos tease moments from this week’s episode.
When press photos shot by longtime Survivor photographer Robert Voets made its way to episode 10, even for an early Loved Ones visit, it seemed too good to be true. Most of the time, we’re lucky to see beyond the merge, as the usual expectation is to switch to screenshots shortly after.
I’m not sure exactly why that’s the case, but since we started covering Survivor in February 2017, that has always been the standard. As we approach episode 11 on Wednesday and three more weeks afterward, we finally see the shift towards what we will see ripped from this week’s show.
The Survivor: Winners at War episode 11 press photos are in, and as predicted by last week’s “Next Time On” preview at the end of the show, this week is all about Tony. The prolific, chaotic winner has done a good job of not being the king of chaos (he notes listening to his wife during the secret scenes), but that seems to be changing rapidly.
One thing that seems odd with the representation of Edge of Extinction this week is how desolate, bored, and savaged the players look. I’m not sure if we’re going to get another challenge, but more of a look at the players’ psyches heading into the potential end of their games 10 days away.
There have been professional photos on the Edge of Extinction that have seen players hanging out near the season 40 white mast, but nothing comes from it. Here, we see Adam looking over his fate in a way that hopefully doesn’t hint at his exit. Maybe he is looking at a hint or a clue for a challenge, after all.
One of the enduring legacies of the Edge of Extinction is how lonesome it makes its players. That gives Amber and Boston Rob Mariano such a huge leg up over the competition, as one can feed advantages, comfort, and support to the other and let one become the champion of their family over the other.
We’ve been promised that this is the episode that Tony tries to make a big move by playing double agent, which means the Survivor: Winners at War episode 11 press photos will showcase him talking to a lot of people. Michele is one of those people.
Ben is another person he wants to check in with, especially since he helped establish his big threats alliance at the beginning of the merge.
What’s interesting here is that this could be the group Tony’s sincerely trying to work with, even though Kim is very much on edge. In the “Next Time On” preview, Tony even said that everyone was plotting to get Jeremy, so this conversation might become pivotal.
The problem with Tony acting up and talking to everybody is that everybody can come together and compare notes. We might have finally seen Tony’s veneer shine through, even if he does pull off whatever he wants to do this episode.
We don’t have press photos for the Immunity Challenge other than the promise of even more fire tokens. However, this week’s promo indicates it’s the “hold up an idol with a pole while standing on an increasingly narrow beam” challenge.
