4 Survivor 50 players voted out way too soon

A few Survivor 50 players were blindsided, but a couple others just didn't have luck on their side this season.

We've officially come to an end of Survivor 50. There are five players left, and they all deserve their spot in the Final 5. Looking back at the season, though, there are a few players that should have been around quite a lot longer in the game if they played their cards just a little bit differently or the game didn't totally screw them over.

There were a few players on this list who made key mistakes in trusting the wrong people, while the other two players were basically run off the tracks in the game by some crazy and reckless twists introduced for Survivor 50.

I didn't include Kyle Fraser on this list because he was pulled from the game in the premiere after tearing his Achilles tendon. Kyle, you deserved to stick around much longer in Survivor 50, but this is a list of players who were voted out.

Let's start with one of my favorite players of all time, Mike White.

Epic Party Mike White
“Epic Party” – 24 returning players are abandoned on the islands of Fiji for a monumental 50th season, with the chance to win $1 million. The theme of the season, “In the Hands of the Fans,” quickly materializes as decisions from the fan vote swiftly and forcefully impact the game in Survivor 50. Mike White

Mike White came to Fiji for Survivor 50 with a big target on his back. He was one of the best players of the 30s (seasons 30-39) after his runner-up appearance on Survivor: David vs. Goliath. He ended up on a tribe with two players he played with on that season, Christian Hubicki and Angelina Keeley, and a friend in Ozzy Lusth. Mike seemed safe, but Christian, for reasons I don't understand, orchestrated Mike's blindside. Mike was voted out on a wild 3-2-1 split vote and was the fifth player voted out of the game.

Overall, Mike had a lot more to give to Survivor 50. He was so funny in the moments we did get to see him play. He could have joined an incredible alliance with Christian, Ozzy, and Angelina and potentially Cirie Fields, Rick Devens, and Emily Flippen. That group could have controlled the game if they ever had a chance to play together, but that didn't happen.

Knife to the Heart Genevieve
“Knife to the Heart” – Castaways help pass the time on their beach by hosting the “Survivor 50 Talent Show”. Another boomerang idol is discovered, and players must decide whether to send it to an ally or an adversary. Then, the biggest reward of the season is on the line as tribes compete for immunity and a special afternoon with country music star and SURVIVOR superfan, Zac Brown, on SURVIVOR 50, Wednesday, March 18. Genevieve Mushaluk

Genevieve Mushaluk is the player I feel the most sorry for, along with Kyle. She was set up so well in the game with a majority alliance. She even found two Billie Eilish Boomerang Idols, but she couldn't use them for herself. How lame is that?

Genevieve, then, ended up on the wrong side of the Blood Moon twist on a tribe of five with zero allies. She had no advantages and literally no chance to stay in the game. And it's such a bummer because she's one of the biggest strategic threats of the new era. She could have controlled the chaos of the season, but instead, the chaos controlled her journey. She was the ninth player voted out of Survivor 50.

Double the Fun, Double the Demise Christian
“Double The Fun, Double The Demise” – A boat arrives asking the tribe to divide themselves into pairs. This week’s immunity challenge features one of the biggest twists ever seen in Survivor history. Then, a theatrical risk taken at tribal council must be enough to cast doubt upon those on the chopping block, on SURVIVOR 50 Photo: Robert Voets/CBS ©2025 CBS Broadcasting, Inc. Christian Hubicki

We've already spoken about Christian Hubicki a little bit. He's clearly one of the big stars of Survivor 50, despite making some key mistakes along the way. Still, Christian had so much more life left heading to his Journey. In the end, Christian was betrayed by Jimmy Fallon, and that's why he was voted out.

Remember, after the immunity challenge, Christian volunteered to go on the Journey, and it was the most difficult Journey in Survivor history. He had to solve a puzzle on a floating platform in a certain amount of time before the puzzle was pulled into the ocean. Because he lost, Christian lost his vote at Tribal Council and his vote had to be cast against him, so Christian headed into Tribal Council with no way to save himself. He also had to announce this to the tribe, which put an immediate, huge target on his back.

Honestly, this is the worst elimination of the season. Christian had no chance after the tribe knew he had a vote against him. They all wanted to live to see another day, too. Why wouldn't they vote him out?

Double the Fun, Double the Demise Ozzy

Ozzy Lusth

Ozzy is my final pick for the Survivor 50 player voted out too soon. Ozzy had a dream he went home with an idol in his pocket, and he still didn't play his idol when he was on a small tribe. He was surrounded by allies, but he also revealed his whole game to Aubry Bracco to convince her to vote for him at Final Tribal Council.... days before he even made it there.

Honestly, not playing his idol was one thing, but Ozzy's big failure was thinking he had already made it to the end and told Aubry his whole game. He wanted to show her the path and then actually do it to secure his victory. Unfortunately, Aubry is an incredible player, and she used that against him.

It's tough, as an Ozzy fan, to see him go out this way because he was right in one sense. The path to the end for him was so clear. All he had to do was win a challenge or two, and there's basically no way he wouldn't have been a favorite to get to Final Tribal Council.

Those are the four players who were voted out too soon in Survivor 50! I was so tempted to include Cirie, but I feel like, when I look at her game, she lucked out a few times, but she was also super unlucky that Ozzy got voted out when he did. Had they stayed together, Cirie would have been an even bigger favorite to win than Ozzy was.
