WithSurvivor 50now wrapped up and 25 years ofSurvivorin the history books, fans—and players—have been talking a lot about who sits onSurvivor’sMt. Rushmore. Thankfully, it seems we’re finally broadening that conversation from the four greatest players of all time, to simply finding out who the next All-Star season would be in one of the most-often named G.O.A.T.s was in charge of casting.
In an interview withRemind Magazine, Boston Rob Mariano shared his picks for the ultimate All-Star line-up ofSurvivorand it…isn’t surprising at all. In fact, it’s pretty familiar for fans who tuned in to season 40,Survivor: Winners at Warwith only a couple of differences.

“In no order, it would be myself, Amber (my wife),” the five-time player starts before continuing to name eight other players—almost all of which he’s played with before, “Parvati Shallow, Tony Vlachos, Sandra Diaz-Twine, Cirie Fields, Jeremy Collins, Tyson Apostol, Dee Valladares, and Kim Spradlin.”
And if you’re thinking we’ve seen that casting before, we have. It’s a slight combination ofSurvivor: Winners at WarandSurvivor 50—the two most recent anniversary All-Star seasons of the show. The majority of course, come from Rob’s season 40 cast with the addition of new era winnerDee Valladaresand five-timeSurvivorUS player,Cirie Fields.
Though Cirie has never won, afterSurvivor 50it’s been more disputed than ever that you don’t have to win to be one of the best players of all time. Cirie has cemented herself in theSurvivorhistory books several times over, earning her legend status far more than the majority ofSurvivorwinnerscould ever dream of doing. Just because she did not win any of the five seasons she played on does not mean she is not one of the best to ever do it.
In fact, when asked in his interview what the most important skill is to have for reality TV, Rob went on to say that adaptability is vital and authenticity is something he’s learned resonates with viewers—both things Cirie is best known for.
“Every show throws unexpected situations at you, and the people who do best are usually the ones who can adjust quickly.” Rob explained, “Fans often focus on strategy,physical ability, or competition results, but the ability to read a situation, change course, and stay calm when things don’t go according to plan is one of the most valuable skills you can have.”
If that doesn’t describe Cirie’s gameplay in every single season she’s been on, I don’t know what does. Which is why it makes perfect sense that Rob would include her in his All-Star season even though she never won.
