CBS officially announced the Survivor 50 finale date, and it's exactly when we thought it would be.

Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans will come to an end with a three-hour finale on Wednesday, May 20, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+. The finale will end around 11 p.m. ET, but there's a chance that it could run long, as it has in the past.

We've known for a while that the date would likely be when we'd find out the Survivor 50 winner, but CBS has finally confirmed it.

We can't talk about the Survivor 50 finale without talking about the Survivor 50 live reunion. CBS confirmed back in January, thanks to a vote by the fans, that the Survivor 50 finale will feature a live reunion for the first time since season 39, Island of the Idols, in 2019.

Starting with Survivor: Winners at War, which had a live reunion over video chat, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Survivor has opted to do a celebration out in Fiji after announcing the winner. Jeff Probst chats with the winner and the players after the game as they eat pizza and drink champagne.

Looking back at previous live reunions and Survivor finales, we'll likely see about two hours of actual gameplay with an approximately 45-minute live reunion and Jeff Probst conversing with the players about what transpired in the game. We'll also have the winner reveal live from Los Angeles for the first time in the new era.

This is a developing story. More to come.
