I knew Kyle Fraser was going to win Survivor 48 before the game even began

From the moment we met our Survivor 48 castaways in their 1-minute pre-game introductory interviews, I knew Kyle Fraser was going to win.

His potential was clear before he even stepped foot on the marooning beach. Showing signs of charisma, flexibility, a non-threatening level of physical strength, and a solid strategic mindset, he was the obvious person to beat from the very beginning.

I even pulled tarot cards to predict the future of our Final Seven, and the universe confirmed that it would be Kyle walking away with $1 million. By that point in the game, it was clear that any of our castaways had a chance at winning if they made it to the end, but Kyle was still by far playing the best game of everyone on the island, whether they knew it or not.

On Wednesday, May 21, Kyle was officially announced as the winner of Survivor 48. He bested fellow finalists and runner-ups, Eva Erickson and Joe Hunter, on a 5-2-1 vote. It's the first time in new era history that all three finalists received votes, and it looked like Joe might have had this season in the bag if not for one major mistake in the last few days of the game.

Icarus Time
“Icarus Time” – Castaways must decide between choosing heart over head as they enter the final six and last stage of the game. Letters from home feed the soul and strengthen bonds during this week’s reward at the sanctuary. Then, two castaways orchestrate a particularly convincing ruse, escalating the remaining tribe’s paranoia on SURVIVOR, Wednesday, May 14 (8:00-9:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME | CBS

Throughout the season, my belief in his power to win never wavered. At every twist and turn, he maneuvered his game perfectly to adapt to his tribe mates and manipulated the game of the other players to bend the narrative in his favor. And he did all of that without his gameplay becoming super apparent to others. That's extremely impressive and not something all winners can say they've accomplished.

And when we got to those last minutes of Final Tribal Council and Jeff Probst officially declared him the winner of Survivor 48, I wasn't only happy because he was my pick to win. He genuinely played an incredible game that deserved the recognition that comes with the title of Sole Survivor.

It was a great season and I'm so excited for Survivor 49 because it means we're one step closer to Survivor 50. Each new season makes me want to play this game more and more and with Kyle's win, I'm ready to go to Fiji now more than ever! Put me in, Jeff! Season 51 is calling my name!
