Rupert Boneham was left off the Survivor 50 cast, and no good explanation was given. Much secrecy surrounded how host Jeff Probst and the rest of the producers constructed the cast, but we were told it was to help bring "joy" to the season.

The Survivor 50 cast has already traveled to Fiji, where the group of returning players was competing for a nice cash prize. CBS will dedicate a lot of time to promoting the historic season, but some of the casting choices continue to be debated by fans.

The Survivor 50 cast is also primarily led by people from the New Era seasons, with a few vets from earlier in the show's run sprinkled into the mix. We will also see Cirie Fields return to Survivor. She appeared on the show four times before competing (and winning) on The Traitors and then participating in Big Brother 26. How will she do against a group of much younger players this time?

Rupert Boneham comments on being left off Survivor 50

A new TikTok video from Rupert Boneham reveals how shocked he was not to get a call to be on Survivor 50. His video was to address the many fans asking him why he isn't on the season.

"For all you guys that are out there wondering why I'm not on Season 50... I wonder the same thing!" Rupert excitedly tells the camera. "They didn't even ask me. Oh my gosh. First one to do back-to-back [seasons], first one to do three [seasons], first one... I wish they would have asked me. I would have been there in a second. I'm still tough enough to do their darn Survivor."

Rupert went on to state that he hoped all the players on Survivor 50 were having a good time. He filmed the video while the players were still competing in Fiji. He also expressed a great deal of confidence in his ability to have done it and was prepared to tackle the game again. Unfortunately, for Rupert and the Survivor viewers at home, we won't see him when the season debuts next spring.

Do you think Rupert Boneham should have been on the Survivor 50 cast? Or are you a Survivor fan who only likes to see new people competing on each successive season?

We'll share more news about Survivor 50 as we learn more. Production should be wrapping on the final season soon, but it won't air on CBS and Paramount+ until February 2026.
