Two weeks after the Survivor 48 cast swapped tribes, there's another big change happening in Survivor 48 episode 6, "Doing the Damn Thing." It's time to Earn the Merge!
The Vula, Civa, and Lagi tribes will come together for Mergatory, as it's known in the Survivor world. The tribe stage is ending, and now, these players will start competing against each other in individual challenges. Of course, we'll still see some team challenges for the next few weeks before the official merge, but this is definitely a turning point in the game.
But, first, let's talk about what we're expecting to see in episode 6, which follows one of the most emotional episodes of Survivor ever and one of the most inexplicable and historic Tribal Council votes in the show's history.
What time is Survivor 48 on tonight?
Survivor 48 episode 6, "Doing the Damn Thing," airs at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. C on Wednesday, April 2, on CBS and Paramount+. We have another 90-minute episode coming up, so please plan accordingly!
If you like in the Mountain or Pacific time zone, you have to wait a little bit longer to watch the new episode tonight! Episode 6 will air at 7 p.m. MT and 8 p.m. PT.
As of right now, it looks like the next extended episode of Survivor 48 will be the three-hour season finale on Wednesday, May 21!
The Survivor 48 players are about to merge
While the officially, official merge will not happen in Survivor 48 episode 6, this is the setup for that big moment! Thanks to the sneak peek at episode 6, we see the Lagi tribe reading tree mail and learning that they will be transitioning out of the three-tribe portion of the game.
Technically, they will not have a tribe for a short time and the players will likely compete in groups with one group heading to Tribal Council after losing a unique immunity challenge.
We also know there will be a big reward challenge with food, and these players will be split into two groups. That's evident in the episode synopsis, via CBS:
"A mad dash ensues when an opportunity to get ahead in the game lands on the beach. Then, information is a free-for-all when players talk strategy over a reward meal, on SURVIVOR..."
It's going to be interesting to see what the "opportunity to get ahead in the game" will be. Is that just Mergatory or is another advantage up for grabs?
Based on the Next Time on Survivor clip from last week's episode, it looks like there's going to be a race for some advantage.
Sai confronts Cedrek over lying at the last challenge
In the first clip for episode 6, we also see the Civa tribe returning from Tribal Council. Sai Hughley doesn't want anything to do with Cedrek McFadden after his sneaky vote to get rid of Bianca Roses.
It didn't make sense then, but Cedrek has concluded that Bianca was basically playing the Civa and Vula players against each other to skirt through the vote. He claims that he could only tell Chrissy Sarnowsky about the plan, but he definitely could have opened up things to a discussion at Tribal Council.
Instead, Sai just has to take Cedrek's word that Bianca was ready to vote her out, too, and believe that Cedrek was really doing her a favor.
I have a feeling this is going to be a super intense episode! Emotions will be running high, and there's a lot of pressure to make a good impression when everyone comes together. A lot of feelings are about to be hurt in this episode!
Watch Survivor 48 episode 6 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+!
