It's time to meet the Survivor 48 cast! Don't worry, we shared their pictures, too!
CBS and the Survivor team officially rolled out the cast of the new season of Survivor at the end of January. The cast had already leaked on Reddit and other social platforms months before the Survivor 48 premiere on Wednesday, Feb. 26. Once the Survivor 48 trailer dropped during the season 47 finale, fans were able to easily confirm who would be a part of the cast of Survivor 48.
We shared all 18 new players joining the cast and competing in Survivor for the first time. Just like all the seasons of the new era so far, there are no returning Survivor players in this cast. So, if you're ready to meet these players, let's get to it!
Cast of Survivor 48
Before the Survivor 48 premiere, these pictures of the cast and little snippets of who they are probably don't mean much. We designed this page so fans can easily find more information about each member of the Survivor 48 cast, including their picture, age, hometown, where they live now, their profession, and which tribe they started the game on.
We also shared, in the video above, the get-to-know-you Survivor 48 cast video. I highly, highly, highly recommend that video for everyone tuning in for the first few episodes of Survivor 48. It's a really good way to meet these players, learn about them, and see what drove them to play Survivor. We all know that it's hard for all 18 players to make a big impression in the first few episodes because camera time is so limited, so I really appreciate CBS sharing more interviews with these players so fans can get to know them early in the game and invest in their journey.
During the season, we'll continue to update this page to provide up-to-date information about the cast, including if they're still in the game, if they've been voted out, and more. Spoilers through episode 4 ahead!
So, let's meet all 18 players on the Survivor 48 cast!

Justin Pioppi

After losing another devastating challenge, Justin Pioppi was voted out of Survivor 48 after Mary Zheng played her Shot in the Dark AND WAS SUCCESSFUL! We've only seen that one other time on Survivor. Cedrek McFadden voted out Justin after changing his vote three times at Tribal Council. It was one of the messiest moments we've seen on Survivor in a very long time. Honestly, Justin didn't deserve to go out like this, but that's how it goes on Survivor.

After dislocating his shoulder in the season's opening challenge, Kevin Leung struggled to find his footing in the game. He tried to make a big move after the Vula tribe lost its second challenge, but it backfired on him. Sai, Cedrek, and Justin teamed up to vote Kevin out in the second episode of the season.

Stephanie Berger

- Age: 38
- Job: Tech Product Lead
- Hometown: New York City, New York
- Current City: Brooklyn, New York
- Tribe: Vula
- Voted out: First
Stephanie Berger was, unfortunately for her, the first boot of Survivor 48. She ended up on the wrong side of the majority alliance and opted to play her Shot in the Dark in the season premiere to stay in the game. It didn't land, and Stephanie was voted out of Survivor 48 on a 4-1 vote. Mary was the only player on the Vula tribe who did not vote for Stephanie.
Thomas Krottinger

- Age: 34
- Job: Music Executive
- Hometown: The Woodlands, Texas
- Current City: Los Angeles, California
- Tribe: Lagi
- Voted out: Fourth
Noooo, not Thomas Krottinger! He was voted out after Kyle Fraser played his immunity idol at Tribal Council after an epic tribe swap that saw the California Girls Alliance in a power position on the new Vula tribe. They still lost the challenge, though, and Thomas received votes from Kyle and Kamilla Karthigesu at Tribal Council in episode 4.
Survivor 48 tribes

As you know by now, the 18 Survivor 48 players will be divided into three tribes of six players to start the game. That's how every season of the new era of Survivor has worked so far, and based on what we know about the season, Survivor 48 will not be different.
In Survivor 48, the three tribes are called Civa (orange), Vula (green), and Lagi tribe (purple).
Here is the official tribe list of Survivor 48:
Lagi Tribe | Vula Tribe | Civa Tribe |
---|---|---|
Bianca Roses | Stephanie Berger | Mitch Guerra |
Thomas Krottringer | Cedrik McFadden | Charity Nelms |
Shauhin Davari | Justin Pioppi | David Kinne |
Joe Hunter | Sai Hughley | Chrissy Sarnowski |
Eva Erickson | Kevin Leung | Kyle Fraser |
Star Toomey | Mary Zheng | Kamilla Karthigesu |
The tribe you start the game with can make all the difference. If you can't establish that strong alliance to start the season, you can have a really hard time making it through the game. There are obvious exceptions, but it's a big deal!
Jeff Probst returns as the Survivor host for the 48th season

We can't talk about the Survivor 48 cast without talking about the return of Survivor's fearless leader, the man, the myth, the legend, Jeff Probst.
Jeff returns for his 48th season as the host of Survivor. I don't know what the record is for reality TV seasons hosted, but I can't imagine there's another host who has hosted a show longer than Jeff has. Although he's been running the show for years, he has transcended Survivor. He's an idol to many of these players. Simply interacting with him is a dream come true for a lot of players, and that's been a pretty cool development in how the show has accepted players who are true, true fans of Jeff, the show, and the whole Survivor ecosystem.
And, Jeff's showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon! He's already locked in for Survivor 50 (and probably beyond!), too.
We haven't heard him discuss Survivor 48 much. We'll definitely hear more when new episodes of On Fire with Jeff Probst start dropping after each Survivor 48 episode with Jay Wolff and new cohost, Rachel LaMont, the Survivor 47 winner.
Jeff did have high praise for the Survivor 48 cast in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, recently. Here's what Jeff said about the cast:
“I don't have any reservations about 48. I think it's a great season. Great players. I love the gameplay. I'm really optimistic about this season.”
"Great players," you say? I can't wait to see this gameplay that Jeff loves so much, too.
Watch the Survivor 48 premiere on Wednesday, Feb. 26! New episodes of the series will air on Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+.
