Since Survivor 47 ended, Survivor fans have been waiting patiently to find out who will be the new cohost of On Fire with Jeff Probst with Jay Wolff and Jeff Probst for Survivor 48. Well, now, we know who will be joining Jeff and Jay for the new podcasts during Survivor 48, and we're super excited!

Throughout Survivor 47, fans tuned in weekly on Wednesdays after each new episode of Survivor to listen to Jeff, Jay, and Charlie Davis, the runner-up in Survivor 46, for all the secrets, insight, and behind-the-scenes action from the season. I was a huge fan of Charlie, and Jeff and Jay definitely found the Charlie of Survivor 47 to cohost On Fire with Jeff Probst for the new season.

Survivor 47 winner Rachel LaMont to host On Fire with Jeff Probst

Rachel LaMont, the winner of Survivor 47, will be the cohost of On Fire with Jeff Probst, according to a report from Entertainment Weekly.

Jeff and Jay announced that Rachel would be the cohost of the new season of the podcast in the preview, which was posted on Apple Podcasts and everywhere else podcasts are available.

While there were a few worthy players from Survivor 47 who could be picked to cohost with Jeff and Jay, it was always going to be Rachel, right? She's one of the most charismatic players from that season. She has such a unique perspective because of how big of a superfan of the show she is but also because of the way her season played out. She was in tight alliances, in danger multiple times, executed some brilliant strategic plays, and obviously went full challenge beast. She also found and played multiple advantages and idols. And, of course, Rachel won Survivor 47. I can't think of a better player to join Jeff and Jay on the podcast than her, honestly.

In the announcement, which you can listen to above, Jeff agreed that Rachel was the best choice from the Survivor 47 cast.

"There were a lot of candidates," Jeff said. "Each of them would have brought some very different points of view. But, for us, to be honest, the decision was pretty easy and actually very fast."

Well, there you have it! It doesn't really sound like many other players were actually considered because Rachel was always going to be a top choice.

With that said, I would definitely want to hear what Andy Rueda, Rome Cooney, Caroline Vidmar, Genevieve Mushaluk, or Sol Yi think about the season. Someone needs to get those players on their podcasts for Survivor 48. They would all provide incredibly unique insight into the most challenging reality competition series on TV for the last, I don't know, 25 years.

New episodes of On Fire with Jeff Probst are available on the Survivor YouTube Channel and everywhere podcasts are available immediately after each episode of Survivor 48 on Wednesday nights. The first episode of the new season of the podcast will launch around 10 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Feb. 26, after the two-hour season premiere.

We'll be listening all season and you should, too!
