Survivor 48 premiere date announced (and it's exactly when we thought it would be)

The gap between Survivor 47 finale and Survivor 48 premiere won't be too long!

We have some great news for Survivor fans! Earlier this month, CBS announced the Survivor 48 premiere date. Fans don't have to wait too long from the Survivor 47 finale to the Survivor 48 premiere!

Survivor 48 premieres on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025. Just like every premiere of the new era of Survivor, the season premiere is a two-hour episode. New episodes will be released on CBS throughout the spring every Wednesday night.

This is basically when we thought the Survivor 48 season premiere would be! We've seen past midseason premieres for new seasons of Survivor in February. Survivor 46 also premiered on the last Wednesday of February this year, so it only makes sense that Survivor 48 would premiere on the last Wednesday of February next year!

It also means that the gap between Survivor 47 and Survivor 48 will be about two months! CBS just announced the Survivor 47 two-part finale will air on Wednesday, Dec. 11, and Wednesday, Dec. 18.

So, January 2025 will be the only month without a new episode of Survivor from September 2024-May 2025! That's pretty awesome for the fans!

Most fans know, but it's worth mentioning that Survivor 48 was already filmed in the summer of 2024. Rumor has it that production took place sometime in June and July 2024, but that has not been confirmed.

Of course, it also means that the Survivor 48 cast is out there! There are many rumors about the cast, including the identities of many of the 18 new players. We're not going to share those names until they are announced by CBS for many reasons, including the privacy of the cast and avoiding potential spoilers. We know that there are no returning players in Survivor 48 (and Survivor 49, too!). The earliest we'll see returning players will be in Survivor 50, which films in 2025 right after Survivor 48 ends on CBS. Jeff Probst has already revealed that the Survivor 50 players will be returning players.

We should learn a lot more about Survivor 48 soon! Again, Survivor 47 comes to an end on Dec. 18. Usually, we get a little bit of a sneak peek at the new season, but it probably will not include an extended look at the season or the cast announcement. Survivor usually saves that for the few weeks leading up to the new season. The Survivor 47 cast was announced the week before the new season premiered in September 2024.

We'll share more big news about Survivor 48 as we learn more! We still have five episodes of Survivor 47 left, at the time of publishing, with the two-part finale dropping in December on CBS and Paramount+.
