It's safe to say Kyle Fraser knows a thing or two about what it means to be on Survivor. The season 48 winner was publicly crowned only to hop right back on a plane to Fiji for a chance to secure another $1 million and the rare title of two-time Sole Survivor.
So in anticipation for tonight's premiere, he took to his Instagram account and posted a series of memes (linked below) he compiled before he took to the beach for Survivor 48 that kept him motivated every second of his journey to winning it all.
Here's what Kyle said:
Considering he has now played beside two of this season's contestants while filming Survivor 50, there's no doubt that Kyle probably knows a little bit more about the season's outcome than most previous castaways would. So the fact that he's so excitedly encouraging both new and returning viewers to dive in says a lot. He's also not the first to hype up the Survivor 49 cast, with Jeff Probst continuously sharing just how much everyone is going to love this season's players.
But at the heart of it all, the biggest message Kyle has for the latest group of castaways is to just believe in yourself and your abilities. Which, honestly, is a key factor of what it takes to play Survivor. While there's definitely such a thing as being overly confident—can't wait to find out if the "I can see myself sitting at the end" curse is still in play this season—you still have to trust in yourself throughout the 26 days on the island. In a game where you don't know who to trust, your top ally always has to be yourself.

And despite Kyle's numerous close allies in the game, he always made the move that was needed to get him to the end—staying true to the core drive of the game without compromising his integrity. That was ultimately what got him the majority jury votes he needed to take home $1 million.
But of course, no two seasons of Survivor are alike—one of the biggest reasons why it's still so successful 25 years later—so while Kyle was a clear contender for the title of Sole Survivor from day 1, we likely won't be on watch for the same type of gameplay style in our next winner. In fact, I predicted quite the opposite type of player would win this season.
And we'll find out soon enough if history is set to repeat itself of if we're in for a completely new adventure this season. Only a few more hours until Survivor 49 premieres! Watch it tonight on on CBS and Paramount+ starting at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. C.
