Survivor 49 premiere first look shows new cast thrilled to hit the island

Survivor 49 is still a few weeks away, but CBS is spoiling Survivor fans with a ton of new images from the Survivor 49 premiere!

We have looks at the marooning challenge, the immunity challenge, the immunity idols, camp life, and more. The only things we don't have are much context because we don't know these players that well yet and, of course, any images from Tribal Council. That would obviously be a major spoiler!

Survivor 49 premieres on Wednesday, Sept. 24, so it's awesome that CBS is dropping these images this early in the process. Hopefully, it means that we're going to get even more teasers and trailers before the first episode hits CBS and Paramount+.

Marooning challenge

The Survivor 49 premiere is titled "Act One of a Horror Movie," and that's exactly what the marooning challenge appears to be. From the new images, we see all 18 new players of the Kele, Uli, and Hina tribes hit the beach to meet with Jeff Probst, and they're going right into the challenge that appears to blend water, mud, and carrying very heavy things, including big boxes and a giant snake.

“Act One of a Horror Film” – 18 strangers are abandoned on the islands of Fiji with the chance to win $1 million. Tribes must claim victory in the grueling marooning challenge to earn essential camp supplies. Then castaways are chosen to face off with a huge reward on the line, on the two-hour season premiere of SURVIVOR, Wednesday, Sept. 24 (8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ Premium plan subscribers, or on-demand

This looks like it has the makings of one of the most epic starts to a Survivor season in a long time, especially when you remember Probst has already teased that this is one of the hottest seasons of the show ever. These players are about to be exhausted!

Camp life

The good news is that they all appear to be enjoying camp life based on the other pictures we've seen from the season premiere. There are a lot of smiles, some hand-holding, and more! Everyone looks genuinely excited to be there, and that enthusiasm, hopefully, continues throughout the whole season.

I will say that there aren't many images available from the Uli tribe camp. I'm trying not to read too much into that, but I would not be surprised if they are headed for Tribal Council in the season premiere.

On that note, let's take a look at the immunity challenge.

Immunity challenge

The immunity challenge also looks like it's going to be a fun one, based on the images we've seen so far. These players are going to have to navigate a huge course with ropes and more to win immunity.

CBS also shared a sneak peek at the new immunity idols the players will be competing for in every challenge.
