We've been waiting for news about Survivor 50, and finally, CBS, Jeff Probst, and the Survivor team finally shared some big news about the biggest season in Survivor history.
While CBS didn't announce which returning players would be joining the Survivor 50 cast, the network did confirm, via a press release, when Survivor 50 would premiere. And, it's exactly what we assumed would happen.
Survivor 50 premieres in February 2026
According to CBS, Survivor 50 will premiere sometime in February 2026. Again, that's when fans like us were expecting the new season, but it's great that CBS has already confirmed the release month for what will likely be the most exciting season of the series in a long time.
Production for the new season begins this spring. There are still two seasons, Survivor 48 and Survivor 49, between now and the Survivor 50 premiere. For most of the new era of Survivor, we've seen the new seasons premiere in September and February, so it's no surprise that Survivor 50 will premiere during the second month of the year next year. And, just to be clear, we should see Survivor 49 sometime in the fall of 2025.
Most recently, Survivor 46 also premiered on Feb. 28, 2024. Survivor 48 obviously premieres on Wednesday, Feb. 26. It makes a lot of sense that we'll see Survivor 50, assuming it's the same number of episodes as the more recent seasons, during the last week of February in 2026. Looking ahead, the most likely premiere date is probably Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026. Obviously, we're a full year away from then, so anything could change, but that's when we're expecting to see Survivor 50!
That wasn't the only big news that CBS announced about Survivor 50, either. Jeff Probst and the gang confirmed that Survivor 50 will also have a fan voting element where, throughout Survivor 48, fans will be able to vote on key twists for Survivor 50.
The first fan vote starts on Wednesday, Feb. 26 during the two-hour season premiere. We'll have more information about the live voting all season long!
Unfortunately, we still haven't heard who will be in the Survivor 50 cast yet. It doesn't seem like CBS is interested in having fans vote on who will be in the season, but it's possible. We'll just have to wait and see what happens!
For now, it's good news! We have a release month for Survivor 50. We have a new season of Survivor just days away from the premiere. It's going to be an awesome couple of months.
