It's a big day forSurvivornews! Not only did we learn thatSurvivor 51is officially starting productionthis week in Fiji, but CBS also confirmed the premiere window for the next season of the hit reality TV series hosted byJeff Probst.
On Wednesday, April 15, CBS revealed its upcoming fall schedule and confirmedSurvivor 51will premiere this fall on CBS and Paramount+. In addition, the network also revealedSurvivoris staying in its current time slot of 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday nights.
Probst revealed the full CBS schedule on Instagram via CBSTV.
Survivorfans who have been tuning in for the last 16 or so years have always knownSurvivorairs at 8 p.m. on Wednesday nights. I think we were all expecting to seeSurvivor 51return this fall in that 8 p.m. slot on Wednesdays, but hey, it's great to have confirmation. A day may come where the courage of CBS fails and movesSurvivorto a different night or time, but it is not this day.
Usually, CBS waits until May to reveal its schedule during its upfronts presentation every May, so it's a little earlier than expected.
Unfortunately, CBS has not revealed the official premiere date forSurvivor 51.We're likely a few months away from learning that. We usually have to wait until July or August until that premiere date gets announced, but it's possible we could learn it earlier. We'll be sure to keep fans in the loop down the homestretch ofSurvivor 50and throughout upfronts season.
Even withSurvivor 51without a premiere date yet,Survivorfans should know when to expect the next season. Every odd-numberedSurvivorseason sinceSurvivor'sfifth season, Thailand, has premiered in mid to late September.
Look, I'm not a big gambler, but I'm nearly positive thatSurvivor 51will premiere at the end of September and run through December just like every odd-numbered season since season 5.
If that's the case, we're going to have quite a long break between seasons. TheSurvivor 50finaleis scheduled for Wednesday, May 20, so we'll have about a four-month break like usual. Obviously, the show needs that long break to stay on schedule, but it's always a bummer for fans.
