Thomas Krottinger was one of the biggest social threats in Survivor 48 early in the game. Unfortunately, in episode 4, Thomas was voted out following a tribe swap, another Vula immunity challenge meltdown, and a successful hidden immunity idol play.

In Thomas's exit interview with Parade, Thomas opened up about his gameplay, his alliances, and how the game would have played out had he not been shockingly voted out in the season's fourth episode.

Thomas was part of the California Girls Alliance, which included Shauhin Davari and Joe Hunter, who also ended up on Thomas's new tribe after the tribe swap. While Thomas had a great connection with Joe and Shauhin, he had plans to take another player to the end, assuming he made it that far.

Bianca Roses was the person Thomas was going to the end with in Survivor 48

“The House Party’s Over” – An unexpected twist for the castaways sends the trajectory of their games into an all-new direction. An undercover alliance in the losing tribe leads to a shocking tribal council on SURVIVOR, Wednesday, March 19 (8:00-9:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*. In the interview, Thomas revealed that, while he wanted to work with Joe and Shauhin to make the Final Four, he also wanted to take Bianca Roses, who ended up as the only Lagi player on the new Civa tribe, with him, as well.

Here's what Thomas told Parade:

"I would have taken Bianca to the end without hesitation. I am like a Black Widow Brigade girly. I would want Final Four to be me, Joe, Shauhin, and Bianca. If we all got there, I think there would be an argument of like, who is in the middle of this alliance, and made it work if we got all the way to the end. So I feel good about that. But no, I had no plans on cutting those boys or Bianca anytime soon. I'm old school, bro."

This is so interesting for a number of reasons, but I'm actually kind of bummed that we never go to see something like this come to fruition because of the tribe swap. There's a real possibility that if the Lagi tribe stays united but loses a few challenges, and this group of four enters the merge together. No other alliance seemed quite as loyal as this one. I really don't think Joe or Shauhin would have stabbed Thomas in the back. It really feels like they were genuinely in this until the end. Obviously, that's not how it worked out.

Like Thomas, I'm old school, too. I love the day-one alliances that last until the final day of the game. It's why Charlie Davis and Maria Shrime Gonzalez targeting each other was such a bummer to me.

While Thomas was a little villainous, I'm definitely going to miss him. He was such a great narrator of the season so far. He would have been right in the middle of the action all the way through, so I do feel like we've been a little bit robbed of some epic quotes, great moments, and great gameplay. Thomas clearly had an aptitude that some of the other players did not have in terms of strategy.

In a different timeline, it's Thomas, Joe, Shauhin, and Bianca in the Final Four. Who will it be in this one? We'll find out soon! CBS just announced the Survivor 48 finale date.
