After episode 4 last week, we’ve officially entered the new era portion of the “anything goes” open era. With a tribe swap changing things up from the two tribe dynamic fans were starting to love to the three tribe format many say single-handedly ruined the new era gameplay opportunities, fans are currently left wondering what might happen next.

Thankfully, we have a little bit of insight into tonight’s new Survivor 51 episode that should, hopefully, get everyone excited for another episode.

Though we don’t know everything—and it’s very possible the things we do know will include a twist we didn’t see coming—there are a few things to be aware of before the latest episode airs tonight, Wednesday, October 21 at 8 p.m. on CBS and Paramount+.

How to watch Survivor 51 episode 5

Tonight’s episode is once again set for 90 minutes, which you can watch live on CBS as well as Paramount+ (with the premium membership that includes streaming your local CBS affiliate live). But of course, you can always stream it next-day on both Paramount+ and CBS online.

Tonight’s episode is titled, “Not Here to Get a Pedicure” and the official synopsis for it is: This week’s Immunity Challenge comes with double jeopardy when two tribes face tribal council. The Open Era continues its promise when one player receives a never-before-seen advantage. Then, two tribal councils deliver high drama – with tears and a shocking standoff, on SURVIVOR…

Who is in danger going into episode 5?

Everything seems to be pointing to the fact that this might finally be the end of Devin Way’s domineering game. It would definitely feel poetic for him to go right after finally voting out Jenna Doore—which he’d been wanting to since Day 1—rather than opening up his strategic potential and opting to work with her instead.

But other than Devin, I think overall the Helicopter Alliance could be in danger. There are a few players on my radar that I’m worried about tonight, but I have a gut feeling that this could be the beginning of the end for the Helicopter Alliance in one way or another.

I’m also a little nervous for Lewis Kelly whose charming yet strategic personality might not be aligning with the Dina tribe the same way it did the Toka tribe when he joined after their first Tribal Council.

What can we expect in episode 3?

After the “Next Time on Survivor…” preview at the end of the last episode, we know that two players are most likely going home tonight as only one tribe is winning immunity and both losing tribes will be attending Tribal Council.

Again, there could be a twist regarding how the losing players attend Tribal Council, but as of right now, we know there are for sure two Tribal Councils happening tonight. Will a player go home from each of them? We’ll find out soon enough.

There’s also a new advantage going into the game called the “Blood Ring” which seems to be a spin-off of Survivor 50’s Blood Moon twist. Could we be dealing with a player having control over production decisions? Like forcing a tribe to attend a Tribal Council even if they won immunity?

I would love to see more player-led moments back in the game—we had so many good ones in the first couple of episodes, where did they go?

But as always, we won’t know until tonight!
