Survivor 48 has definitely been bringing the entertainment factor to our screens. After a Tribal Council in episode 8 that saw Chrissy Sarnowsky and David Kinne go head-to-head right before she was voted out of the game, we already know that things were going to be heated at camp. After all, Chrissy made it clear that people needed to start going after some of these strong players before they run away with the game.
Back at camp, David tried to make up with Kamilla Karthigesu, but she was not having it. She knows that he wants her out, and David is clearly not happy that Kamilla is still in the game since he wanted to vote her out at the last Tribal Council.
In the morning, the "strong six" start the day with a talk that includes a discussion of who they want to go for next. David is once again pushing for Kamilla to go home. Kyle is unhappy, and he pulls Shauhin Davari aside to make it clear that David and Mary Zheng are trying to get rid of Kamilla to come for them. Honestly, it quickly devolves into a morning of paranoia.
Eva wins a Safety Without Power advantage
The night after the taco reward, Eva Erickson has to sneak out of camp to try to retrieve whatever advantage she found in her bowl of chips. While she thinks she left the camp unnoticed, she misses the fact that Shauhin not only sees her but goes and wakes up Joe to tell him that she is gone. Shauhin knows that this means that she has won some sort of advantage.
At the end of the beach, Eva learns that she gets an extra vote, or she can risk it for something more powerful. She can bet it for Safety Without Power, or she might lose her extra vote. Ultimately, she risks the extra vote for the possibility of Safety Without Power. And, she ends up winning the safety without power advantage. However, she is not done because there is another risk up for grabs with a chance that has a full idol or the possibility of losing that safety.
Eva decides to keep her Safety Without Power advantage, and she heads back to the camp, where Shauhin sees her return. She doesn't seem to notice that he is not actually asleep.
In the morning, Eva pulls aside Shauhin, Kyle, and Joe to tell them about her advantage. She doesn't hide it from the people she believes are her core four. After telling them, Kyle pulls Kamilla aside and reveals what Eva found. He lets her know that David and Mary are coming for her, too.
As the day progresses, it seems that David is becoming increasingly paranoid and starts going to people to share his thoughts and who he thinks is flipping on their alliance. This includes going to Joe to tell him that he went back on his word to vote out Kamilla when he flipped to voting out Chrissy. Of course, this upsets Joe as he says he never went back on his word when they all decided to vote out Chrissy.
The discussions continue, as Kyle and Joe meet up on the beach. Kyle opens up to Joe about his life away from Survivor. Both men start talking about David and how he seems to have shifted over the last few days.
With all of the conversations happening, who will be voted out next?
David Kinne is the 10th player voted out on Survivor 48
After an episode where we basically saw David blow up his own alliance over paranoia, it was perhaps unsurprising that David was the 10th player voted off on Survivor 48. Mitch Guerra received three votes, but David ended up with six votes.
In a lot of ways, this was a blindside, but it was one that doesn't really surprise us. After accusing Joe of going back on his word and repeatedly coming for Kamilla, he was on rocky ground with the people he was supposed to be working with in the game.
So, how did we get here after everything that happened in this episode?
The reward and immunity challenge takes on the endurance and strength of our Survivors

It's almost a Survivor classic as the players have to hold a ball up against an upper pole with a claw-like contraption while standing on a small platform, and as Jeff starts talking, Star loses her ball and is the first person out. Mary quickly follows as she loses her focus. Then, Kamilla and Mitch lose their ball right after Mary.
It's about keeping the pressure going upwards, and yet Eva drops out of nowhere. Shauhin is out next after catching the ball more than once. This leaves David, Joe, and Kyle in the fight for the immunity. Kyle ends up falling off the platform, which means that he is out. Joe starts struggling with the ball, while David looks solid.
Joe is fighting to stay on his platform and keep his ball up. Once his arms start shaking, it looks like he will be out. All of a sudden, David's ball starts rolling, and he ends up stepping off the platform. This means that Joe has won the individual immunity.
For the reward, Joe chooses Mitch, Shauhin, and Eva to enjoy the food that he has earned.
After the challenge, the vote discussions ramp up
After the challenge, Mary consoles David. Kyle does try to say he is sorry, but it is clear that Mary and David are now in fight mode. They start talking about who to vote out, and for some reason, they settle on Mitch. Star comes to them and wants to vote out Shauhin, and they tell her they are voting Mitch.
At the reward, Mitch admits that he wants David to be voted out tonight. Shauhin is excited to hear that Mitch wants David out. And, it seems that Shauhin has been working to make a move against David.
After the reward, Eva meets with Mary and David, and they tell her they want to vote out Mitch. She goes to talk to Kyle, and he tells her that he is done and wants to vote out David. Now, it is about what is best for her and Joe's game, as these two are truly in sync when it comes to how they are playing this game.
The Tribal Council
Shauhin kicks off the tribal council conversation by talking about making emotional connections at this point in the game. Joe points out that you have to be able to shift with the game. Star even says that you have to look for the cracks in people's game.
David makes it clear that he doesn't think that being public with your alliance is a bad thing. He knows that he has been open about that and his thoughts. David also wants to make it clear that he thinks that there are multiple ways to play this game.
Kamilla, on the other hand, says that if you vote her out, she won't be voting for you. And as the conversations continue, it doesn't really make anything clear about who is getting voted out of Survivor 48.
Unfortunately for David, it seems that he basically talked his way out of an alliance and out of the game. That being said, with three votes on Mitch, it was starting to feel like maybe he would be the one going home. Thankfully, he was safe after Kyle, Shauhin, Joe, Eva, Mitch and Kamilla decided to get rid of the bigger threat in the game.
