Survivor birthday: Spencer Bledsoe (Cagayan, Cambodia) turns 25
Perhaps one of the best players born after 1990 to play the game, Survivor’s Spencer Bledsoe turns just 25 years old today.
Player: Spencer Bledsoe
Occupation: Economics Student
Hometown: Chicago, IL
Seasons: Cagayan, Cambodia
Tribes: Luzon (Green Buff), Aparri (Orange Buff), Solarrion (Black Buff) in Cagayan, Ta Keo (Green Buff), Bayon (Magenta Buff), Orkun (Orange Buff) in Cambodia
Finished: 4/18 in Cagayan, 2/20 in Cambodia
With the exception of Millennials vs. Gen X, it’s fairly difficult for very young players to get on Survivor. There is always a rare one or two cast each year, but it takes an exceptionally grown up person to break through in the casting process. Spencer Bledsoe was the young gun on the Brains tribe in Survivor Cagayan, and compared to the others in his tribe, he may have been the most mature of the lot.
Having escaped the clutches of the cocky Miami Marlins president, imbecilic poker player and the rice-destroying astrophysicist, Spencer really came into his own when working with Kass and Tasha, playing a strong social and strategic gameplay from the bottom. His terrible start meant he could never secure safety and was sent home in fourth place.

It was in Survivor Cambodia that Spencer Bledsoe turns things up to 11, playing a much more emotionally invested game by opening himself up. He may have sounded a bit like a robot when describing his feelings, but playing up with his Cagayan players and proving himself a well-rounded competitor, Spencer finally found himself in a position of power.
Jeremy Collins may have swept his season, but Spencer making his way to the finale episode of two seasons before the age of 24 (and among seasoned players) is nothing short of remarkable He may have said goodbye to the show, but should a runner-up season ever come to fruition, he’s at the top of my list.
